Review the blue vocabulary words for unit five. Follow the directions in the Blue Odysseus sheet. Submit any missing vocabulary sentences OR rite of passage, Ferris Bueller, or Hercules essays. They will be returned to you, graded. Complete the rest of the work in the Odysseus folder you did not do for the first two weeks of distance learning. You may wish to work ahead on next week’s assignments: Sirens and Penelope. They are also in the Odysseus folder. Write that Monday Haiku. Keep submitting your drafts of your essays. I expect to see at least two completed this week. Submit three if you want to be amazing. Grades are updated.
Go to Teams and find the Midas folder. Do the Midas activity for this week. You may work ahead and complete the “Midas and Money” and “Ears and Horn” activities. Last week--view videos on Hermes/Loki and Coyote/Raven and answer questions in preparation for reading trickster tales the following week.

• Choose 1 solo to work on for this week and next. Fill out the form in GC letting me know your selection.
• Spend at least 10 mins sight reading and looking for trouble spots in your selection.
No instrument at home? Follow these steps
• Go to the Snare Drum Folder
• Choose a selection from #1-6. Fill out the form in GC letting me know your selection.
• Spend 10 mins sight reading and looking for trouble spots in your selection. You can CLAP or TAP on a desk/table. You can even get creative with finding something that is like drumsticks to play.
• Anything that has slashes on the rhythm is a roll, do not worry about that, focus on the main rhythm note.
• If you are confused about rhythm counting, watch the demo video by Ms. Porter or e-mail her for a zoom meeting to go over counting
• Upload a video to FlipGrid of your solo selection at the end of your practice session. - Link in Google Classroom.
▪ This video does not have to be “performance” ready; I am just checking in on your playing, mistakes are OKAY! That means you are learning and working at it. Just do not blow through your mistakes, take the time to go back and fix them.

If you have your guitar and book: Learn songs 1,2 and 3 on pg. 52. Be sure you count out loud, especially on songs 2 and 3. Tricky rhythms. Maybe write the counting in before you try to play it. Submit a video by Friday of your performance of all 3 songs.

Please go to you Class Team for Health. Under the “HS Health – Distance Learning – Week 3” channel you will find a post titled, “Health Learning Opportunity #3.” Read all the instructions in the post carefully. I will also send out an email with a link to a short tutorial to help you navigate through the learning opportunity. Stay healthy!
Continue daily physical activity and continue to update exercise log. Please try to use of a variety of exercises including enjoying the great outdoors.
Continue to fill out your activity log and get those to me for make-up points. Try to get outside for a walk or hike in the beautiful weather. I will send an email with different exercise routines for you to try.
