C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
1. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
2. Do the ADIRS start procedure (Ref. TASK 34-10-00-860-002).
3. On the center pedestal:
a.- On the ATC/TCAS control unit:
- Start the ATC system 1(2) - Enter the ATC code given by DGAC ATC Control. - Set the STBY/ALT RPTG OFF/XPNDR/TA ONLY/TA-RA switch to XPNDR.
b. On the switching panel 8VU:
- Make sure that the AIR DATA selector switch ia at NORM.
D.- Make sure that this (these) circuit breakers(s) is(are) closed:

time (approx. 5min.). When the aircraft goes back to ground configuration, the bottom antennas no longer transmit squitters.

SET WITHOUT CONNECT DIRECTIONAL ANTENNA. FOR OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE THE AIRCRAFT SHOULD BE OUTSIDE BUILDING, VEHICLES AND OTHER AIRCRAFT SHOULD BE LOCATED AT RIGHT ANGLES TO OR BEHIND ANTENNA. DO NOT USE CODES 7500, 7600, 7677, 7700, 7777. THESE ARE EMERGENCY CODES.

4. On ATC control panel select ATC System for operational test
(System 1 or 2).
5. Power Up: Press the POWER Key to power the Test Set
6. Press SETUP Control Key to display XPDR SETUP Screen. Use NEXT PARAM and PREV PARAM soft Key to select each parameter in sequence.
(Ref. IFR 6000 Operation Manual step 2.2)
NOTE: THE TESTER ANTENNA MUST BE WITHIN 95 FEET
(28.96 METERS) OF ANTENNA BEING TESTED.
7. Press XPDR Mode Key to return to XPDR Auto Test Screen.

8. Press CONFIG Soft Key to display XPDR CONFIG Screen Use
Data Keys to select configuration file. Press SELECT Soft Key to confirm Selection.
For ATC MODE C select ATCRBS CLASS A For ATC MODE S select MODE S. CLASS A.
9. To run a complete DAN 43 Appendix C (FAA FAR Part 43
Appendix F) Test, press RUN TEST soft Key to start Auto Test. When Auto Test completes a PASS or FAIL indication is displayed at the top of the screen.
10. If AUTO TEST PASS for ATC MODE S go to step 12.
11. If AUTO TEST FAIL Change the transponder, send to shop and
install unit serviceable repeat step 7.

2. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
a. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-

002). c. Install the ATC ground test unit in the cockpit.
d. Put the antenna of the ATC ground test unit at 50 cm (approx. 2 ft) from the ATC antennas.
e. Connect the antenna to the ATC ground test unit.
f. On the SWITCHING panel 8VU, make sure that the AIR DATA selector switch is at NORM.
g. On the center pedestal, on the ATC/TCAS control unit:
- set the ATC system 1(2) on. - set the STBY/ALT RPTG OFF/XPNDR/TA ONLY/TA-RA
switch is at STBY. - make sure that the display does not show an emergency
code: 7500, 7600 or 7700.
h. On the panel 13VU, on the CAPT and F/O EFIS control sections of the FCU, make sure that the baro displays show STD.
i. Connect TESTER-AIRDATA to the pitot /static system (Ref AMM TASK 34-13-00-710-004).

5. Functional Test of the Altitude Reporting Function
ACTION RESULT
1. On the TESTER AIR DATA : – simulate three altitude values
between 20,000 ft and 25,000 ft
2 On the ATC/TCAS control unit. - set the STBY/ALT RPTG
OFF/XPNDR/TA ONLY/TA-RA switch to XPNDR
On the ATC/TCAS control Unit - The display shows the last code set - The ATC FAULT or FAIL indicator light
stay off.
On the ATC ground test unit, a display shows: - the last selected code. - the standard altitude must be approximately
the same as altitude simulated in step 1.
3 On the PFDs: - read the altitude value and
compare it with the altitude from the ATC transponder
The difference between the altitude shown on the CAPT PFD and the ATC 1 on the ATC ground test unit must not be more than 125 ft. The difference between the altitude shown on the F/O PFD and the ATC 2 on the ATC ground test unit must not be more than 125 ft.
4. On the ATC/TCAS control unit: - set the STBY/ALT RPTG
OFF/XPNDR/TA ONLY/TA-RA SWITCH to STBY
On the ATC/TCAS control unit: - The display stays on.
5. On the air data generator: - slowly decrease pitot and static
pressure until you get atmospheric values
The rate of descent must not be more than 6,000 ft/min
6. Stop and disconnect the air data generator
7. On MCDU: - push the line key adjacent to the
RETURN indication until you get the CFDS menu page.
The flight condition is no longer simulated

6. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
a. Disconnect the ATC ground test unit.
b. Do the ADIRS stop procedure (Ref. TASK 34-10-00-860-005)
c. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits.
d. Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and
other items.
7. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
7XE.
8. Repeat step 2.f.above with the SWITCHING panel 8VU, make sure that the AIR DATA selector switch is at AIR DATA 3
9. Return the Air Data Switch to NORMAL position
