JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Job Coach RESPONSIBLE TO: Training Manager JOB PURPOSE: As part of the Project Delivery Team to contribute to the assessment of

clients, identify vocational goals as well as training needs and to develop relevant work placements. Assess and profile all placements and assist clients to integrate fully into the workplace. Monitor and evaluate performance and development to ensure client progression. Work alongside employers to introduce and embed best practice as regards supported employment.

KEY DUTIES:

1. To work with other members of the project delivery teams in drawing up and delivering training and development activities relevant to client needs

2. Conduct all related assessment of the workplace prior to job start, including job profiling and task analysis.

3. Develop a job profile that is compatible with the employers needs and takes into account the client’s interests and abilities

4. Prepare a detailed job task analysis and identify vocational goals that will feed into clients

training and development plan

5. Assist the client to learn and carry out tasks to the specifications outlined in the job profile and assesses the clients ability to function within the work environment

6. To help the client integrate fully into the workplace and with co-workers

7. Assist the client to learn the specific requirements and duties of the job as well as other work-

related activities such as time keeping and attendance.

8. Identify any training needs required to maintain employment e.g. travel training

9. To monitor and evaluate the clients performance and development within the work placement and ensure progression by providing continued support

10. To contribute to client review, monitoring and evaluation of activities and ensure proper records

kept.

11. To liaise with parents, carers, employers, training staff in respect of supporting clients.

12. To ensure that all aspects of project administration relevant to your activity of work are completed to timescales set and level of accuracy required.

13. To ensure that client training and development activities are carried out safely.

14. To provide support for clients going into placement or employment according to need.

15. To represent Agoriad in a professional manner and to operate within its policies.

16. To maintain complete confidentiality over the details of clients or Agoriad’s’ business made known to you from any source and only to impart such details when authorised to do so by line managers.

17. To partake in any training or personal development activities that is appropriate to Agoriad’s or

the project’s needs. The duties of the post are not exhaustive, but serve as a guide to the current and major responsibilities of the post. Agoriad is a growing organisation and is operating in a dynamic environment. In order to maintain its survival and employees it may from time to time need to vary the role and responsibilities of the post. In view of this, the job description will be reviewed on a regular basis and may need to be altered. Such changes will be in consultation with the post holder.

JOB SPECIFICATION JOBCOACH

ESSENTIAL

Relevant experience of supporting individuals to improve skills and achieve targets.

Must be able to assist individuals to identify personal interests and skills which will lead to a job

of choice.

Coaching and mentoring skills

The ability to support individuals who have a disability to find "real work for real pay"

Understanding of the business community and how individuals with disabilities can add value to

the workplace.

Ability to monitor and assess the need for workplace support and implement support

Drive and determination to work to challenging targets and achieve in a fast moving customer

focused environment.

Excellent interpersonal, communication skills, and ability to represent Agoriad and its

subsidiaries in a professional manner with customers and employers

Good negotiation and influencing skills.

Ability to work on own initiative.

Excellent team player

Good organisational skills, time management, computer literate with a willingness and aptitude

to learn.

Full driving license and access to a vehicle.

Flexibility to cope with the varying demands of the role and achieve the desired results.

For some posts the ability to communicate fluently in Welsh will be deemed essential.

DESIRABLE

Knowledge of local and national labour market and economy.

Experience of working in a results focused environment.

Understanding of employment issues faced by customers

Experience of working with disabled / disadvantaged people in employment focused

programmes.

Ability to manage and support a caseload and achieve targets for progression.

Ability to encourage, persuade and motivate at all levels

An understanding of the Welfare Benefits system.
