Message from the Managing Director

It has been a busy quarter for us. We had recruited oversea

interns for the first time. This is also part of our collaboration

with National Kaohsiung First University of Science & Technology

Taiwan. There are a total of four students from Taiwan taking

their internship with us at the Eco Design and Innovation Centre.

The students experienced many first time here in Malaysia and

we are glad that the learning and working experience is fruitful

for them.

We have the honour to host Assoc. Prof. Siu King Chung, Hong

Kong Polytechnic University and Mr. Zachary Haris Ong, President

of International Council of Design to present the Eco Sense Talk

entitled “Design from Ordinary to Sustainability”. Assoc. Prof. Siu

had provided further insights and guided us on how to develop

Eco Design Course in Malaysia. We look forward to the

implementation of this new eco design movement.

Following the visit from Sekolah Menengah Analisis Kimia Padang

Indonesia, we were also offered future collaboration opportunity

with them. Our plant tour has received quite good feedback and

we will continue to improve the area mentioned by our visitors

through the feedback form.

Internship students from Taiwan (1 July-1 September 2018)

This year, we have received four students from National Kaohsiung First University of Science & Technology Taiwan, Taiwan for internship from 1 July 2018 to 1 September 2018.

Sekolah Menengah Analisis Kimia Padang, Sumatra Visit on 12 July 2018

We received a group visit of 39 students and 3 teachers from Sekolah Menengah Analisis Kimia Padang, Sumatra. The students were divided into three groups and was brought to visit around the company. This is the second time the school had visited NetsEco.

Swap up Day on 13 July 2018

This is our second time organising Swap up Day. The objective of this event is to give your unwanted/ unused items a new lease of life. This year, we had invited Mr Zaki Suratman from Life Line Clothing Malaysia Sdn Bhd to give a talk entitled ‘Second Life’ to let our colleague know how they manage the unwanted items.

Eco Board Game presentation at Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT) on 17 July 2018 and 30 August 2018

We were invited to APIIT to give some feedbacks for the improvement of Eco Board Game, a new initiative as a result of our collaboration prepared by APIIT students.

Ecosense Talk on 24 July 2018

We have invited Mr. Zachary Haris Ong, President of International Council of Design and Assoc. Prof. Siu King Chung from Hong Kong Polytechnic University to conduct the Ecosense Talk 2017 themed “Design from Ordinary to Sustainability” on 24 July (Tuesday) at Auditorium 1, Level 7, Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU). There were a total of 87 participants from various background including local authorities, lecturers, students from local university, corporate sector and NGOs participating in the event. NetsEco Eco Design & Innovation Centre is working in partnership with APIIT for this.

Asia Pacific Institute of Information & Technology (APIIT) Visit on 7 August 2018We received a group of 11 students and 1 lecturer from APIIT on 7 August 2018. They are came to understand the process and technique of eco printing.

Ms Teh Soo Tyng distributed the safety shoes to the workers.

Taiwan intern students’ final presentation on 28 August 2018

After almost 2 months doing all the assignments given by their industrial supervisors, all works of the students were evaluated at the final presentation. Final presentation is one of the criteria in Ecosense Structured Internship Programme that need to be completed by all the intern students in NetsEco.

Ms Agnes Tan received the Best Attendance Certificate and prize from our MD.

Best Attendance Prize Giving Ceremony on 30 August 2018

Best Attendance Prize was introduced to encourage staff to come to work and avoid taking any leave from 1 May 2018 to 31 August 2018. This is also one of the method introduced by management to increase staffs’ moral value.

Ms Agnes Tan received the appreciation prize from our Managing Director (MD). She showed the best improvement among employee during Health Awareness Campaign.

Health Awareness Campaign Prize Giving Ceremony on 30 August 2018Health awareness campaigns can help motivate, educate, and inform the public about various health issues. It can affect everything from the productivity of the workforce to the quality of living. Thus, Eco Welfare unit introduced this campaign to create higher awareness on health related matters. This campaign started from 9 July 2018 to 27 July 2018.

Sunway University visit on 27 September 2018

We received a group visit of 32 students and 3 lecturers from Sunway University. They were divided into three groups and were brought to visit the company.

CPR training on 29 September 2018

For Safety & Health, we have invited Ms. Wong Lai Wah from New Hope CPR Learning Centre to conduct a CPR Training on 29 September 2018 (Saturday), at NetsEco Meeting Room. This training is important as it can save someone’s life.

Others and Up ComingOthers and Up Coming

The aim of this enewsletter is to communicate the environmental friendly initiatives taking place at Nets Printwork to our stakeholders. We are committed to supporting and promoting sustainable products and services. At the same time, we would like to encourage all our stakeholders to become supporter or even advocators for sustainable development.

This is only the first step in transforming our core business area, we are expecting more sustainable partners for future projects.

We will organise second Swap up Day for year 2018 on December.

We also will have some replacement of old Anicolor Machine to a new one in October 2018.
