Dear Readers,

Greetings from NGI family

By the time this magazine reaches your hand, perhaps you would be

joining back to college after nishing hectic examination and a joyful

vacation. At the same time, some of your brothers and sisters may be

aspiring for professional courses. It is very hard time to take a positive

decision in selecting the professional college. Plenty of avenues are open

for a student to opt for the course. But the maturity level is not that high to

take self decision. At this juncture, Noble group of institutions run by Sri.

Vivek Bharti Trust- Junagadh, have opened up many help centers

throughout Saurastra region to help the needy and the greedy aspiring

students. My sincere advice and suggestion to students that, don’t go by

some body’s words or advice. You please literally visit the college, see the

infrastructure, study the existing scenario there, collect information about

the teaching and learning process, placement activities, and the existence

of study atmosphere. When you are convinced with most of these, take a

nal decision to choose that college and be rm in your selection.

As we know till 10th or 12th standard every student is a bookworm and

fully loaded with the pressure of getting a free seat either in Medial or

Engineering. In the actual growing age of the child he/she is put under

pressure without any social / cultural exposure. Students studying at NGI

are given total care and showed various ways of personality development

through sports, cultural, research and discipline.

It’s an honest effort by the Editorial board to take all the activities of

students and staff to the doorstep of every individual through this E-News.

Hope and wish that new incoming students shall contribute more and

gives a new direction for the improvement of this magazine.

“Start a Noble Career”.

Welcome to the June 2017 issue No. 7 of the Noble E-News E-

Magazine, the college magazine of Noble Group of Institutions -

Junagadh.

This issue of college magazine provides an unusually good perspective

on the intellectual pursuits happening on our campus. It is a great

pleasure for me to humbly shoulder this duty despite it being a

constantly demanding task. I would like to express my gratitude to our

readers, our contributors, our editorial board and the NGI

management for supporting me all the time.

Learning is not a process limited to schools or colleges only, nor does it

end with schooling or graduation. It is indeed a lifelong process. NGI is

oriented to total formation of student and to adaptations of various

methods suiting the dynamics of changing world in order to achieve

goals and objectives. I wish a good luck to all nobleits of 2017 batch for

their future endeavour.

This E-magazine is intended to be published four times in a year. This

7th issue is a brief account of the important events which includes

curricular and co-curricular activities held up to June 2017 from March

2017.

Curricular ActivitiesnDiploma Mechanical Engineering Department had organized Project Exhibition for 6th semester students on the date of 11th April, 2017 in college workshop to give a platform to nal year students to showcase their creativity and hard work they have put in past one year in terms of their nal year project work.

In this Exhibition 20 Working Models of various projects were demonstrated by students. All NGI family along with The Director Dr. H. N. Nagaraja appreciated students’ efforts and also gave suggestions to make them even better.

The Mechanical Engineering Association had organized workshop on “A Look at Catia – Designing Software” in coordination with the Cadd Cenre Junagadh on 17th March, 2017. Mr. Muzamil Sheikh from CCTS , Mumbai was invited as expert regarding this workshop. A special thanks to Mr. Vaibhav Chowksi from CADD Centre Junagadh for the support extended towards the workshop.

Diploma Electrical Engineering Students have presented a seminar on “Renew Able Energy Sources". There are different types of Renewable Energy Sources like Solar, Wind, Biomass, and Geothermal Power plants to Alternate Source of Conventional Power plant.

Use of non-renewable energy cause environmental pollution and also they gets depleted. Pollution free, freely available renewable sources are best alternative. Solar power plants are widely used but its main problem is variability. Biomass plants are also used but its fuel availability in large amount is difcult. To overcome the disadvantages of both power plants they should be combined.

Asp.net is a server-side Web application framework designed for Web development to produce dynamic Web pages. It was developed by Microsoft to allow programmers to build dynamic web sites, web applications and web services. ASP.Net, is a widely used and accepted programming language in the web development industry.

Prof. Pradymansinh Jadeja was invited as an expert for the workshop who is working with the Darshan Engineering College, Rajkot. Students obtained high level of practical knowledge to develp various types of applications.

This workshop is intended to provide students with a detailed introduction of basic and advance controls of AJAX, Advance concepts of Report Handling, Web services and Web.cong le handling in Dot Net. This workshop will create the Professional skill of website designing in students using ASP.NET.

PHP is a scripting language designed for developing dynamic web pages. While its principal purpose was server-side scripting, it has grown to incorporate a command line interface capability and can be used to develop client-side Graphical User Interface (GUI) applications as well.

Prof. Arjun Bala was invited as an expert for the workshop who is working with the Darshan Engineering College, Rajkot. Students obtained high level of practical knowledge to develop various types of applications.

Objectives behind this workshop are to give basic Knowledge of PHP, PHP form handling, PHP and MySQL connectivity, Use cookies and sessions, Using SQL to SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE data from tables, Using the phpMyAdmin utility to administer the MySQL database,Create a PHP web page that is unique to each visitor, Attack and defense with SQL injection etc.

Three days construction workshop was organized by Noble Architecture College, Junagadh with Mudra Takshashila Institute of Design and Architecture, Baroda. In this workshop students of both institutes have learned the theory about masonry and arch construction. To reinforce the theoretical knowledge students’ were asked to construct various types of arches in the construction yard of Noble Architecture College. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to explore and learn construction.

Two Days workshop on " C Programming with Hands on Practice" Arranged by CSE/IT department for 2nd semester students on 10th & 11th May, 2017. More than 50 students are participated in this workshop and they enjoyed the learning of C Programming with fun.

Achievements

Noble Architecture College secured 2nd rank in all Gujarat Technological University (GTU) afliated architectural institutes for winter 2016 results.

Prof. Rakesh Akabari (Head of Electrical Engineering Department) attended “One Week ISTE STTP for Coordinators on Electric Power System” at IIT- Kharagpur in May, 2017.

Prashant Kumar Prince from 6th Mechanical Engineering (Degree) has achieved rst position in whole Junagadh District in category of Mechanical engineering design in INTERNATIONAL DESIGN COMPETITION Conducted by Cadd Centre Junagadh and Qualied for state level Round 3 of competition. More than 400+ Students were participated from Junagadh district.

It’s a moment of pride for us at Noble Group of Institutions as our respected Professor Harsh Parekh achieved 1st place in entire GTU for one of the subjects of 1st year Architecture Engineering.

2 Citations and 1 H-Index achieved by Prof. Sureshkumar B. Tank in Research Paper during last two years.

In GTU – Summer, 2016 exam 100% result of 6th semester students achieved in Mechanical Engineering (Diploma) and 2 students got 10 out of 10 SPI.

Nikhil Methiya from Diploma civil at Noble College and Priyank Paghadar from Junagadh Agriculture University secured 1st rank with their research article "Crop Health Monitoring by Drone".

Dr. Sibaji Sarkar, Associate Professor Noble Pharmacy College, Department of Pharma Chemistry Junagadh, Gujarat ,India, has received the “Best Educationist Award” from International Institute of Education and Management (IIEM), Delhi. The award was presented to him Delhi on 3rd June 2017.

On 11th May, 2017 National Technology Day was celebrated with a Project Fair at NGI. For this event, the Gujarat Technical University felicitated the college for it and Prof. Prakash Parmar received the award on behalf of the college.

Industry / Academic Visits

Mechanical Engineering Department (Degree) had organized a visit to the Indo German Tool Room in Aurangabad along with 38 students of 4th sem and 6th sem on the date of 31st March 2017. The visit was fruitful as they gained practical knowledge about the functioning of various machines.

To give our B.Sc. students a break from the regular academic life, Noble Science College took them to Rajasthan on refreshment trip on the date of 31st December, 2016. The trip covered beautiful cities and towns like Udaipur-Mewar-Mount Abu.

The civil engineering students visited state to art KRITI TILES factory (situated at chittodgadh Rajasthan), They have learned about the selection raw material from quarry site cutting and polishing of marbles and granite with modern machines exported from the china and the marketing of nished goods to different states.

Group of 24 students and faculties from MBA & IMBA visited Asia's largest chocolate manufacturing plant of world's largest food company Nestle at ponda factory, GOA on 29th March, 2017.

3. Nx1 Robot Exhibition

Noble Innovation center (NIC) had organized the Exhibition of Nx1 robot which was 2nd runner up at ASME E-fest Asia Pacic Event and also featured on leading newspapers of Gujarat. This exhibition was conducted on 20th March, 2017 from 2:30 pm onwards at Auditorium.

1. Parents Meeting on 22nd March, 2017

NGI had organized Parents Meeting on the date of 22nd March 2017 for rst year degree engineering students. Meeting was started with address of The Director of NGI Dr. H. N. Nagaraja sir and concluded by The Managing Trustee Shri V. P. Trivedi sir. The efforts of NGI to make transparent education system were appreciated by parents. The Meeting was followed by feedback session.

2. A Get-together Function for Final Year Diploma Students

A get together function was organized by Noble Group of Institutions, Junagadh on the date of 19th April, 2017 for all nal year diploma students. The function was inaugurated by Dr. Vipul Vekariya with welcome speech. The director & Principal of NGI Dr. H. N.Nagaraja gave motivational speech for all students and wish all of the best for future. The managing trustee of NGI Shri Dadaji inspired all listeners with his loving speech. The feedback session was also arranged at the end of function.

3. Joy of Giving – Social Activity

Instead of celebrating Valentine's Day in the regular way, students marked this day by helping under-privileged people. The department of CSE/IT had collected the funds from our college. The funds were then used to give away food, chocolates, belts to blind school, orphan house, deaf and dumb school, old age house. More than the materialist things that they gave away, what made this event special was the happiness that they shared with them.

4. Motivational Address by Mr. Parth Kotecha

Mr. Parth Kotecha The trustee of NGI has conducted motivational address to all faculty members of Noble Group of Institutions, Junagadh on the date of 15th April, 2017.

The session was started with introduction speech of Dr. H. N. Nagaraja The director and principal of NGI. Later Mr. Parth Kotecha shared his experiences about life and education. He advised all NGI faculty members to follow the path of that Teacher who is and will be in their memory for lifetime. He also recommends modifying teaching methodology based on students’ interest using one video. He also suggested being parent of students once to make change in education system.

5. Project Demonstration at Bhavnath

As an initiative towards encouraging innovation, NGI had conducted a product demonstration activity at Bhavnath in Junagadh on the date of 29-05-2017 during 6pm to 9pm. This event was visited by experts as well as people from Junagadh who watched various products created by NGI students. This included ASME E-Fest Asia Pacic '17 runner up project designed by NGI students. Approx 1000+ people of Junagadh visited activity area and gave nice feedback.

Voice of Noble

EC Student Association organized Singing competition “The VOICE of NOBLE” during 9th & 11th February 2017, at auditorium hall of NGI campus. Total 74 students participated in this event. Out of which 14 nalists were selected for grand nale round. Mr. Mohit Pandya and Mr. Suchit koriya were invited as judges of this singing competition.
