This meeting was open to anyone local to Dorset and interested in energy. The meeting was advertised on the TTD website and mailing list, DA21 calendar and also by word of mouth. Flyers and posters were not printed. To the best of our knowledge this meeting was not mentioned on the BBC or indeed Channel 5...etc.Twelve people said they would like to attend - and 10 people actually attended - here follows what the other 2 missed out on... and anyone else who couldn’t make it...

• build a picture of Skills & Knowledge (see left)
This section aimed to build a picture of who’s here, skills, and knowledge...
Interestingly, a few of us didn’t think we had any particular ‘skills’ to offer -
ahem!....read on:
2. Sharing Energy Tips• break into groups of up to 5• write on flipchart• feedback at end
For this we split into 2 groups to come up ideas, some big, some small, and some medium...
Table 2 ’Hilary, Pete, Geoff, Malcolm & Mike’ came up with this:
Table 1 ‘Irene, Richard, Paul & Steve’ came up with this:
3. Things we might like to do as an energy group? eg LED lighting bulb library & co-operative...other ideas
• general ideas...let your mind go (see table1 and table2 doodles above)
• serious projects list (see below)
For this we all looked at the results from Table1 and Table2, and went through everything to prioritise a Top3 of what we know could be achieved (keeping in mind this is a small group at the moment, big projects may occur later).
RESULTS:
NUMBER 1: ELECTRICMETERS CASE STUDY: based on Hilary, and quite possibly Toby?
LEAD WANTED!!: PRIORITY NUMBER 1.5 (2): ELECTRIC METER LOAN SCHEME:
• what are the things holding you back from being active (ie, if it's finances, how can we overcome?)
4. Upcoming Community Energy Conference (Pete West)
Pete handed out info for this
5. Any other business• how often would the Energy Group like to meet? (thought I’d email this out to the energy group)• contributions to room costs, 12 people = 83p each (I forgot to do this)
Then we went downstairs to the bar where Geoff kindly got ‘em in!
