ENERGY FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT Sanghamitra School was selected for the public awareness programme conducted the Director, Mr L.K. Nanda and the Co-ordinator, Mr. Vara Prasad from the Atomic Minerals Directorate (AMD) for Exploration and Reasearch on the 13 th of October, 2015. Students from class VIII, IX and X participated in this interactive session where various topics related to Energy were focused upon. The programme was quite enlightening as it left the students with their minds ignited. The types of energy, the advantages and disadvantages, if it is renewable or non- renewable,the impact of energy on the climate, the result of energy deficit, the effect of energy on the environment, the use of cheap and sustainable energy for ecological balance, the involvement of energy in the development of a nation, how to fill the gap between the supply and demand of energy….. were a few topics covered in this session. The Scientists have also strategized upon the usage of Nuclear Energy after an intensive observation, research and investigation. It was a daylong session which ended with an Elocution Competition on the topic NUCLEAR POWER, A CLEAN ENERGY FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT.
