• 1950s• Not many electrical

appliances in the homes• Most homes would

have a radio• Some people had a

camera which used photographic film

afford televisions but the picture was only in black and white. There was no colour on television until the 1970’s

to have a radio and television

• Fridges and washing machines were common

been invented and were now being used by people

home computer appear.• Computers were now

smaller and people could afford them.

• The Internet was widely used.

laptops, netbooks and mobile phones were now everyday items that people used.

• Some things which were once used and are now no longer used or rarely used.

• Floppy disc. Information was stored by computers on floppy discs. They are no longer used.

• Turntables

• Turntables were once used to play music and are now only used by some people who still buy vinyl records
