  What are our main energy sources?

Industrialised countries need largeamounts of energy

Most of this energy comes formfossil fuels which are burnt in

power stations, factories, homesand vehicles

These fossil fuels formed millionsof years ago, and are non-

Lead poisoning has been shown to affect thedevelopment and progress of children living near

motorwaysDust and gases in the air can lead to smog above largeindustrialised cities

 A hole is developing in the ozone layer which thereforewill not filter out harmful ultra-violet rays from the Sun

We need to conserve our fossil fuels

The electricity we produce from burning fossilfuels could also be made using renewable
