A recent NHS trial showed remarkable results in favour of Enduro Hygiene Wipes, with up to 98% elimination of bacterial growth on patients’ hands after use!
Background Hand Hygiene has been identified as the primary intervention to prevent Health Care
Associated Infections (HCAIs) transmitted by health care staff. This infection risk can be be
significantly reduced by the adoption of good hand hygiene practice.
HCAIs accounted for 9000 deaths in England*. In the UK it is recognised that nearly 40% of
all hospital patients have hands contaminated with at least one pathogen including MRSA.
For NHS patients who are mobile, it is recommended that they wash their hands with soap
and water after using the toilet and before eating food.
For patients that are bedfast and/or cannot reach a wash basin, it usual practice to offer hand
wipes which normally contain Alcohol, Detergent or Chlorhexidine.
The trialTitled “A bacteriological survey of the hands of patients before mealtimes to investigate
whether the use of a wet wipe can reduce risk of infection in hospitals”, this trial compared
Enduro Hygiene Wipes against traditionally used detergent wipes, in this instance
PDI Hygea Detergent Wipes.
This trial sought to determine:
> whether the introduction of a hand wipe before meals reduces bacterial burden
> whether a biocide wipe or detergent wipe has a different level of performance.

The results speak for themselves! The report found that “the complete elimination of bacterial growth was detected in those areas utilising Enduro [Hygiene] Wipe.” (see page 12)
Across the trial as a whole, “Enduro Wipes achieved an 87% eradication rate [of bacterial growth] compared with 13% for the detergent wipes.” (p.12)
The report also recommended that the use of detergent wipes should be restricted or
removed from patient care areas in favour of Enduro Hygiene Wipes.
Furthermore, the views and feedback of patients were taken:
> 92% were satisfied Enduro Hygiene Wipes left their hands feeling refreshed.
> 86% said Enduro Hygiene Wipes smelt satisfactory on hands after use

Coming soon: a New Method of Reducing Stock Holding
What if you could have a Hospital Curtain in your inventory that could serve two purposes?
Introducing a new concept: a Full Width Curtain that can be quickly and easily transformed into a Half Width Curtain!
We have heard from you that it can be a challenge to ascertain how many Half Width
Curtains to keep in stock to satisfy customer requirements, whilst also keeping your own
stock holdings down to a minimum - and we wanted solve this problem.
How have we done this? We are designing a new prototype curtain, specifically created in order to offer greater
stock flexibility.
The difference is this new Full Width Curtain will come complete with:
> two permanently affixed labels (one either end)
> two tie backs (one either end)
What is the benefit of this new curtain? This means you now only have to purchase the new Full Width Curtain from us - there’s no
longer any need for you to sit with stock of Half Width Curtains on the shelf as you can easily
transform the Full Width Curtain into a Half Width Curtain, as and when you require.

How will it work? Full Width to Half Width in a few easy steps! When you receive an order for a Half
Width Curtain, simply:
> take one new Full Width (7.5m) Curtain from your existing stock
> cut the leading edge of the 25th pleat
> you now have two Half Width (3.75m) Curtains, complete with labels and
tie backs already attached!
Having two labels and two tie backs on a Full Width Curtain does not in any way detract
from the overall finished look of the curtain - in our opinion, it only enhances it.
We can also supply extra plastic bags, labels and boxes etc. if required, as part of our
Curtain accessory range. We will also be making a full instruction video for you to explain
the concept in more detail.
What do you think? We would love to know whether this concept would be useful to you or not, and and would
really appreciate it if you could let us know your thoughts in an email.
Samples of the new curtain are now available - if you would like to receive one, please don’t
hesitate to let us know.
Thank you so much for your help on this!

AntiBak Wipes FG - a 10 Year Success Story
We are celebrating! This month marks 10 years of successfully supplying Food Probe Wipes to the UK National Health Service (NHS).
Why is there a need for food probe wipes? Health sector clients are particularly vulnerable to food-borne bacteria. As part of risk
management, food served to Hospital wards is always temperature checked before serving -
this is done by inserting a temperature probe.
After application the temperature probe is wiped clean with an approved sanitising wipe to
avoid cross contamination.
Food Probe Wipes are also used to clean and sanitise patient food trays.
Alcohol Food Wipes are traditionally used... but Alcohol Wipes are food tainting.

Why have we been a trusted supplier to the NHS for so long? For many reasons, such as:
> We are able to offer a much safer technology
> AntiBak Wipes FG are water based -
completely alcohol free!
> AntiBak Wipes FG have been tested and shown
to be as effective against bacteria as alcohol wipes
> But most importantly... because our wipes
have been tested by an independent Food
Research Laboratory and shown to be non-food tainting.
Commercial opportunity Hospital Food Probe Wipes are a regular monthly purchase for hospitals.
Antibak Wipes FG offer a clear advantage over traditional alcohol based wipes that are
food-tainting.
