SNC2D1 Due Date____________________ Chemistry Board Game Assignment This project is to be completed in groups of four . A good board game combines elements of luck and skill. It should include a sense of fun while incorporating information from your Chemistry lessons and from Chapters 4, 5 and 6. Your group must create a board game that it is interactive, fun and tests the players’ knowledge of the Chemistry unit. Requirements: The board game should be designed for 4 players. It must include an instruction page that explains how to play the game. Instructions must be clear and easy to follow. You must create/provide a board, game pieces and dice if necessary. The board game must include questions from the Chemistry unit and may include lots of different “trivia-type” questions but you must include questions that deal with the following topics: o creating formulas and naming ionic, polyatomic and molecular compounds o creating word equations and skeletal equations from written material o balancing equations o identifying reactions (synthesis, decomposition, single displacement, double displacement, neutralization) o identify common acids and bases from names and formulas o identifying pH levels and colours of indicators in various substances You will be given some class time to work on the board game but the majority of the work must be done as a homework assignment . The class will have an opportunity to play all the games as review for the Unit Test.
