Separate Registration Paths

In addition to your event registration path, you may have sub events or itemsthat require a separate registration path, such as:

• Competition/Contest that requires the attendee to submit documentsand apply to enter the competition.

• I initially included the competition registration during the standard registration process, butmost attendees didn’t have the info required at the time of registration. Therefore, you can make acategory in etouches (under eReg). This gives you a SEPARATE LINK to send to people, after theyregister, so they can complete the application whenever they want. Note: They can MODIFY theirinitial registration and do the same thing, but we wanted it quick and easy for our attendees.

• By having a separate registration path for the competition you can also make:

• Customized header and footer

• Customized emails (confirming, modifying, etc.)

• Easier to Promote the competition – if they already registered you now have to modify your registration, etc.

A sample registration screen is on the next slide

A Quick Easy Way to Make a Webpage

• Select custom HTML

• Create a table, based on the text you want to enter. ie: if you are listingcommittee members and have 2 columns: 1 for images and 1 fordescriptions, make it a 2 column table and then the number of rows youneed (# of committee members). i.e., For 2 committee members youwould need 2 rows 2 columns = 4 boxes are selected as shown:

Making a table is a nice easy way of keeping your text lined up and neat in acertain area. It could also be one row and one column (one box) …andyou just enter or paste all your text into that box and center the table

So how do you make a table?

Keywords

• This is easier than you think. Pretend you know nothing and go to a browser searchbar and type in what you would type to find your event. Do as many possibilities youcan think of. Then go to a word tracker like Google has:

https://adwords.google.com/o/Targeting/Explorer?__u=1000000000&__c=1000000000&ideaRequestType=KEYWORD_IDEAS#search.none

• Type in your words and see how many times people search for them and you will seewhat are the most used words/phrases that are searched on average in a day ormonth. You may learn that certain words/phrases are more popular than you think.

• If your event is local also add in geographic words tailored to your location

• Once you have determined your best keywords, make a list and save it. Use it whencreating your website, articles, blogs, postings. Also incorporate your keywords intoyour meta tags.

• Don’t say WE, OUR company, IT, or even your company name (if it’s not a keyword)Say – Our Podiatric conference, The Present Podiatric conference, this MedicalConference. Don’t over do it, be sure it reads nicely, but use keywords whenever itworks.

Pages to add to your site• List your committee members – images and description

(usually good keywords in these also)

• Add a page on your event site showing your businessservices/products with outbound links to your othersite(s).

• Make a page for your sponsor to show off as a bonus forbeing a Special Sponsor

• If there is time for sightseeing add a page about thelocation listing places to go, restaurants, etc.

• Make your exhibitor page easy for them to get all theforms they need to exhibit. I sometimes even rewritethe forms (some are so sloppy)
