Effects of the bomb• Heat of blast so intense people

at center of explosion vaporized

• Bomb’s white light acted like giant flashbulb and burned dark fabrics of clothing into skin and shadows of bodies onto walls

• People experienced blinding flash, followed by intense heat, and a deafening explosion
