Previous Catholic generations have led us to be a people of faith with a rich history. Our parents, grandparents and great grandparents have ‘grown’ the Church by their good works and contributions to education and healthcare. Their faith journey has brought us to today. As Bishop, I have asked Precious Blood Cathedral, the mother church in Sault Ste. This will enhance the excellent work being carried out in the Parishes and our commitment to ‘Arise Together in Christ’. Our journey from the 1600s, through industrialization and many periods of immigration continues into the 21st century. As we stand on the shoulders of all who have gone before us, future generations will stand on our shoulders enjoying what we have preserved and celebrated. The creation of the proposed multi-use gathering place at the Cathedral will provide indoor and outdoor space for celebration, education and outreach. I call upon all Catholics to Join the Journey and contribute to its success. Jean Louis Plouffe Our vision is to create a ‘Gathering Place’ for all Catholics at the Cathedral. This will include a path beginning with a fountain flowing into a water feature symbolizing our journey from baptism to eternal life. At the end of the path will be a columbarium for the interment of ashes of our loved ones. Appropriately, along this path will be an artistic depiction of our Catholic history, remarkable for its good works and achievements by the laity, priests and religious congregations of men and women. To provide a space of quiet and peace in the busy downtown, there will be a reflective garden dedicated to Our Lady. A multi-use building will be constructed as a venue for local, regional and diocesan celebrations, meetings, instruction, spiritual development and training for good works. It will house a repository of history of Catholicism in the area, display artifacts and acknowledge the contributions of former parishes and the diverse nationalities that they served. Join the Journey Words and Music by Nancy Bodsworth

Join the Journey Come one, come all Join the Journey Answer the call Reach out to all peopleWherever they roamPreach the good newsWelcome them home

1. We honour those who came before, those faithful pioneers. Who shared the love of Jesus Christ and passed it through the years. They healed the sick, taught the youth, -our first community. They persevered and built our church, this is our history.

2. Join us on the path of life to reflect and heal in sacrament. We feel God’s grace

His love for us is real. Join us in the garden come celebrate and share. Join us on this journey show others you care.

3. To the young among us,calling on our youth. Bring your zest for life and love, keep searching for the truth.

We come together, rooted in Christ where we worship, live and learn. In our ever-changing world the light of Christ must burn.

We are called, to reach out to the faithful and to those who doubt. We are called to embrace those who feel alone and who don’t have a place.Reach out to all peopleWherever they roamPreach the good newsWelcome them home

All Catholics are encouraged to Join the Journey
