IMPORTANT: the implantation of a joint prosthesis requires
knowledge of anatomy,biomechanics, and reconstructive surgery of
the musculoskeletal system and may beperformed only by a qualified
surgeon. the surgeon must operate in accordance withcurrent
information on the state of scientific progress and the art of
surgery. patients shouldbe aware of the possible complications that
can occur as a result of disregarding theprecautions listed
below.
DESCRIPTION- the tornier simpliCiti™ shoulder system is intended
for use in both total and hemi-shoulder arthroplasty. as a total
shoulder, the system consists of a metaphyseal metalhumeral
component, a metal humeral head and an ultrahigh molecular
weightpolyethylene glenoid. as a hemi-shoulder, only the
metaphyseal metal humeralcomponent and metal humeral head are used.
- For a more detailed description of the implants and their
utilization, please refer totechnical documentation, or contact
your tornier representative. it is essential to implantthe
simpliCiti™ shoulder system with the simpliCiti™ instrumentation
specificallydesigned for this purpose. the simpliCiti™ shoulder
system implants are not compatiblewith components from other
manufacturers. Glenoid components are labelled “forcemented use
only” and are indicated only for use with bone cement. the
metaphysealhumeral components are indicated and are labelled for
press-fit un-cemented use.
MATERIALSthe materials used in the manufacture of the
simpliCiti™ shoulder system implants are asfollows:-metaphyseal
humeral component is made of titanium alloy (ti-6al-4v) in
accordance toastm F136 with a sintered titanium Cp ti bead coating
conforming to astm F-1580.-the humeral head is manufactured from
Cobalt Chrome alloy per astm F-1537 (equivalentto iso 5832-12,
“implants for surgery -- metallic materials -- part 12: wrought
cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy”) or astm F1058 (equivalent to iso
5832-7, “implants forsurgery - metallic materials - part 7:
Forgeable and cold-formed cobalt-chromium-nickel:molybdenum-iron
allo y.)-the glenoid components are made of ultrahigh molecular
weight polyethylene (uhmwpe)according to astm standard F648 or iso
5834-2.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
Intended Use:the simpliciti™ shoulder “system” is intended for
total and hemi-arthroplasty of theshoulder.
Indications:• severely painful and/or disabled joint resulting
from osteoarthritis, traumatic
arthritis or rheumatoid arthritis.• Fracture of the humeral head
where the surgeon’s experience indicates that
alternative methods of treatment are unsatisfactory.• proximal
humerus malunion with humeral head degeneration.• avascular
necrosis of the humeral head.
Notes:-the metaphyseal humeral components are indicated for
press-fit un-cemented use.- Glenoid components are labeled “for
cemented use only” and are indicated only foruse with bone
cement.-this device is for single use.
CONTRAINDICATIONSFor total shoulder or hemi-shoulder:the
simpliCiti™ shoulder system is contraindicated in the following
situations:1. lack of sufficient sound bone to seat and support the
implant, including that resulting
from skeletal immaturity, osteoporosis or erosive arthritis2.
metal allergies or sensitivity.3. infection at or near the site of
implantation.4. distant or systemic infection
ADVERSE EFFECTSas with all implantable devices, risks can
include bone resorption, poor bone formation,tissue or nerve damage
as the result of surgical trauma, implant loosening or
migration,temporary inferior subluxation which may subside as
rehabilitation progresses, allergicreaction to the materials used
in the implant, infection and/or those events common toany surgery
(pulmonary embolism, stroke, heart attack, hematoma, pneumonia,
slowwound healing).
CLEARED COMBINATIONthe simpliciti nucleus (metaphyseal humeral
components) has been designed to becompatible with both the
simpliciti and affiniti humeral head systems. additionally,
bothhumeral head systems, in certain combinations, are compatible
with the tornier aequalisand affiniti glenoid systems. For more
information on the cleared combinations refer to themismatch charts
in tornier document Caw-3185.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONSthis product is provided sterile in an
undamaged package and is for one time use only.if either the
implant or the package appears damaged, expiration date has
beenexceeded or if the sterility is questioned for any reason, the
implant should not be used.do not clean, re-sterilize or reuse as
this may damage or compromise performance ofthe devices and may
expose patient to risk of transmitting infectious diseases.
• upon removal of implant(s), dispose of as a biohazard
material.• do not use with devices from other manufacturers.• do
not use trials as implants.• do not alter or modify the
implant.
MRI WARNING:this product has not been evaluated for safety and
compatibility or tested for heating ormigration in the mr
environment.patients should be informed that there are several
different manufacturers and generationsof mri equipment, and
tornier inc. cannot make claims regarding the compatibility of
thisproduct with any specific mri unit. it is recommended that
patients and physicians consultwith the mri equipment manufacturers
to discuss the compatibility of this product with themri equipment
before undergoing any mri procedure.Failure to heed these warnings
and precautions can lead to complications to the patient.
CAUTIONSthe functional life expectancy of this device has not
been determined.if the surgeon determines this implant is
appropriate for a patient with any of the followingconditions, the
surgeon must advise the patient of the strength limitations of the
implant,the possibility of implant dislocation, migration,
loosening or failure and the precautionsthe patient must take to
minimize the possibility of an adverse clinical result.these
conditions may impose severe loading on the device:1. obesity2.
engaging in manual labor or activities3. Certain sports
activities4. patient youth and activity level5. medical conditions
or balance impairments that could lead to falls6. alcohol or drug
addiction7. mental attitudes or disorders that could result in
failure to follow surgeon orders

these conditions may adversely affect the fixation of shoulder
implants, if the conditionscreate a poor environment or poor bone
stock:1. marked osteoporosis, tumors or generally poor bone stock
2. metabolic or systemic disorders, pharmacological treatments3.
history of general or local infections4. severe deformities5.
allergic reactions to implant materials6. tissue reactions to
implant corrosion or wear debris7. disabilities of other
jointsusing a glenoid prosthesis in patients with cuff tear
arthropathy could increase the risk ofglenoid loosening due to the
proximal migration and non anatomic loading.
SURGICAL PROCESS• Pre-operatively:
the surgeon must be fully conversant with all the aspects of the
surgical technique andknow the indications and contra-indications
of this type of implant. the surgeon must haveacquainted himself
before the operation with the specific operative technique of
theproduct which is available from the manufacturer. as part of the
pre-operativeexamination, the surgeon must check that no
biological, biomechanical or other factorsare present that will
affect the correct conduct of the operation and the
postoperativeperiod. an appropriate range of sizes must be
available at the time of the operation. Checkthat the implant
package has not suffered from any deterioration.
• Per-operatively:the correct selection of the type and size of
the implant appropriate to the patient and theposition of the
implant are extremely important. handle the implant using proper
aseptictechnique including the use of sterile surgical gloves.
leave the protective cover on until thedevice is needed. the
functional surfaces of the implant must not suffer any
damage,abrasion or other deterioration. do not increase the
anteversion of the glenoid componentas it may result in instability
and dislocation. before closing the incision, clean out all
ectopicbone, extraneous cement and bone chips as debris left in the
site may cause dislocation,pain, restricted movement or pre-mature
wear.
• Post-operatively:patients should be informed about the
precautions they must take in everyday life to helpmaximize the
service life of the implant. it is recommended that a regular
postoperativefollow-up be undertaken to detect early signs of wear,
loosening of the prosthesis, etc., andto consider the action to be
taken. normal wear of the implant according to the state
ofknowledge at the time of its design cannot in any way be
considered to constitute adysfunction or deterioration in the
characteristics of the implant. a suitable rehabilitationprogram
must be designed and implemented.
STORAGE AND HANDLINGimplants must be stored in their original
sealed packaging. implants must be handled withcare to preserve
integrity of their packaging.
PACKAGING AND STERILIZATIONthe implants are individually
packaged and supplied sterile. all metal implants have
beensterilized by gamma irradiation. all polyethylene implants have
been sterilized usinggamma with an inert gas packaging. the
expiration date for sterilization must be checked.only those
products implanted before the end of the expiration date may be
consideredsterile. the packaging and labelling must be checked for
integrity. reject any implant if thepackaging is damaged. every
precaution must be taken to ensure sterility when openingthe
packaging of the implant and when inserting it. never re-sterilize
and implant.
LIMITED WARRANTYtornier, inc. warrants that this product meets
the manufacturer’s specifications and is freefrom manufacturing
defects at the time of delivery. this warranty specifically
excludesdefects resulting from misuse, abuse or improper handling
of the product subsequent toreceipt by the purchaser. tornier, inc.
does not warrant the outcome of the surgicalprocedure.

voeren in overstemming met de huidige informatie en kennis
betreffende dewetenschappelijke vorderingen op het gebied van de
chirurgie. patiënten dienen zichbewust te zijn van mogelijke
complicaties die zich voor kunnen doen als gevolg van het
nietnaleven van onderstaande voorzorgsmaatregelen.
BESCHRIJVING- het tornier simpliCiti™ schoudersysteem is bedoeld
voor gebruik als systeem voor eentotale of hemiartroplastiek van de
schouder. als totale schouder bestaat het systeem uiteen
metafysaire metalen humeruscomponent, een metalen humeruskop en een
glenoidalisuit polyethyleen van ultrahoog molecuulgewicht. voor een
halve-schoudervervangingworden alleen de metafysaire metalen
humeruscomponent en de metalen humeruskopgebruikt. - voor een
uitgebreidere beschrijving van de implantaten en de toepassingen
ervan kuntu de technische documentatie te raadplegen of contact
opnemen met uwvertegenwoordiger van tornier. het is van groot
belang dat het simpliCiti™schoudersysteem wordt geïmplanteerd met
de voor dit doel specifiek ontworpensimpliCiti™-instrumentatie. het
simpliCiti™ schoudersysteem is niet compatibel metcomponenten van
andere fabrikanten. Glenoidaliscomponenten zijn voorzien van een
label"alleen voor gecementeerd gebruik" en alleen geïndiceerd voor
gebruik met botcement. demetafysaire humeruscomponenten zijn
geïndiceerd voor druk-en-pas-gebruik zonderbotcement, en
overeenkomstig gelabeld.
MATERIALENde volgende materialen zijn gebruikt voor de
vervaardiging van het simpliCiti™schoudersysteem:-de metafysaire
humeruscomponent is vervaardigd uit een titaniumlegering

GEBRUIKSINDICATIES
Beoogd gebruik:het simpliCiti™ schoudersysteem is bedoeld voor
gebruik als systeem voor een totaleen hemiartroplastiek van de
schouder.
Indicaties:• een ernstig pijnlijk en/of invalide gewricht als
gevolg van osteoartritis,
traumatische artritis of reumatoïde artritis.• Fractuur van de
humeruskop in het geval de ervaring van de chirurg leert dat
alternatieve behandelmethoden niet tot een bevredigend resultaat
zullenleiden.
• verkeerd vastgroeien van de proximale humerus met degeneratie
van dehumeruskop.
• avasculaire necrose van de humeruskop.
Opmerkingen:-de metafysaire humeruscomponenten zijn geïndiceerd
voor druk-en-pas-gebruikzonder botcement.-Glenoidaliscomponenten
zijn gelabeld "alleen voor gecementeerd gebruik" en
alleengeïndiceerd voor gebruik met botcement.-dit is een instrument
voor eenmalig gebruik
CONTRA-INDICATIESvoor gehele of halve schouder:het simpliCiti™
schoudersysteem is contra-geïndiceerd in de volgende situaties:1.
Gebrek aan voldoende gezond bot om het im-plantaat in te plaatsen
en te
ondersteunen, ook ten gevolge van onvolgroeidheid van het skelet
of osteoporose oferosieve artritis.
2. metaalallergieën of -overgevoeligheid.3. infectie op of nabij
de implantatielocatie.4. verre of systemische infectie.
BIJWERKINGENzoals met alle implanteerbare instrumenten, zijn
mogelijke risico's botabsorptie, slechtebotvorming, weefsel- of
zenuwbeschadiging ten gevolge van chirurgisch trauma, losrakenof
verplaatsing van het implantaat, tijdelijke, niet zeer ernstige
subluxatie die verdwijntnaarmate de revalidatie vordert,
allergische reacties op de gebruikte materialen in hetimplantaat,
infectie en/of bijwerkingen die bij elke operatieve ingreep voor
kunnen komen(longembolie, beroerte, hartaanval, hematoom,
longontsteking, langzame wondgenezing).
GOEDGEKEURDE COMBINATIEde simpliciti nucleus (metafysaire
humeruscomponent) is ontworpen zodat hij compatibelis met
humeruskopsysteem van zowel het type simpliciti als het type
affiniti. bovendien zijnbeide humerusk opsystemen in bepaalde
combinaties compatibel met de tornierglenoidalissytemen van het
type aequalis en affiniti. zie voor meer informatie betreffendede
goedgekeurde combinaties de tabellen voor verkeerde combinaties in
tornier-document Caw-3185.
WAARSCHUWINGEN EN VOORZORGSMAATREGELENdit product wordt steriel
in een onbeschadigde verpakking geleverd en is bedoeldvoor eenmaliG
Gebruik. als het implantaat of de verpakking beschadigd lijkt te
zijn,als de uiterste houdbaarheidsdatum is verstreken of als de
steriliteit om enige anderereden twijfelachtig is, mag het
implantaat niet worden gebruikt. niet reinigen,hersteriliseren of
hergebruiken, want dit kan de prestaties van de hulpmiddelen
schadenof in gevaar brengen en de patiënt blootstellen aan
mogelijke besmetting metinfectieziekten.
• na verwijdering dient het implantaat weggegooid te worden als
biologischgevaarlijk materiaal.
• niet gebruiken in combinatie met apparatuur van andere
fabrikanten.• Gebruik geen proefmodellen als implantaten.• pas het
implantaat niet aan en wijzig het niet.
MRI-WAARSCHUWING: dit product is niet getest op veiligheid en
compatibiliteit, noch op temperatuurstijging ofverplaatsing in de
mr-omgeving.moeten patiënten geïnformeerd worden dat er
verschillende fabrikanten en generatiesvan mri-apparatuur zijn, en
dat tornier inc. geen beweringen kan doen betreffende
decompatibiliteit van dit product met enige mri-unit. het wordt
aanbevolen dat patiënten enartsen overleggen met de fabrikant van
de mri-apparatuur en de compatibiliteit van ditproduct met de
mri-apparatuur bespreken voordat de mri-procedure wordt gestart.het
niet in acht nemen van deze waarschuwingen en voorzorgsmaatregelen
kancomplicaties bij de patiënt tot gevolg hebben.
AANDACHTSPUNTENde functionele levensverwachting voor dit
implantaat is nog niet vastgesteld.als de chirurg vaststelt dat het
implantaat geschikt is voor een patiënt met één van de

volgende aandoeningen, dient de chirurg de patiënt te informeren
over de beperkingenvan het implantaat qua sterkte, de mogelijkheid
van dislocatie, migratie, losraken of nietfunctioneren van het
implantaat en de voorzorgen die de patiënt moet nemen om de kansop
een nadelig klinisch resultaat te minimaliseren.de volgende
aandoeningen kunnen een zware belasting op het implantaat
uitoefenen:1. overgewicht2. verrichten van handmatig werk of
activiteiten3. bepaalde sportactiviteiten4. leeftijd en
activiteitenniveau patiënt5. medische condities of
evenwichtsstoornissen die tot vallen kunnen leiden6. alcohol- of
drugsverslaving7. mentale houding of afwijkingen die kunnen leiden
tot het niet opvolgen van de orders
van de chirurgdeze condities kunnen de fixatie van
schouderimplantaten nadelig beïnvloeden, als dezeeen slechte
omgeving of slechte botvoorraad veroorzaken:1. ernstige
osteoporose, tumoren of een algemeen slechte botvoorraad2.
metabolische of systemische aandoeningen, farmacologische
behandelingen3. Geschiedenis van algemene of lokale infectie4.
ernstige vervormingen5. allergische reacties op de materialen van
het implantaat6. weefselreacties op implantaatcorrosie of
-slijtage-afval7. invaliditeit van andere gewrichtenhet gebruik van
een glenoidalisprothese in patiënten met rC-artropathie kan de kans
ophet losraken van de glenoidalis als gevolg van proximale migratie
en non-anatomischebelasting vergroten.
CHIRURGISCH PROCES• Pre-operatief:
de chirurg dient volledig vertrouwd te zijn met alle aspecten
van de operatietechniek endient de indicaties en contra-indicaties
van dit type implantaat te kennen. de chirurg dientzich voor de
ingreep vertrouwd te hebben gemaakt met de specifieke
operatietechniekvan het product, informatie daarover is te
verkrijgen van de fabrikant. als onderdeel van hetpreoperatieve
onderzoek dient de chirurg te controleren of er geen
biologische,biomechanische of andere factoren zijn die de juiste
uitvoering van de operatie en hetpostoperatieve herstel zouden
kunnen belemmeren. ten tijde van de operatie dient hetimplantaat in
geschikte maten beschikbaar te zijn. ook dient gecontroleerd te
worden ofde verpakking van het implantaat niet beschadigd of
aangetast is.
• Peroperatief:het is van zeer groot belang om het juiste type
en maat van het implantaat voor debetreffende patiënt te kiezen en
het implantaat correct te positioneren. hanteer hetimplantaat met
een juiste aseptische techniek, inclusief het gebruik van
sterielechirurgische handschoenen. laat de beschermende bedekking
intact tot het implantaatnodig is. de functionele oppervlakken van
het implantaat mogen op geen enkele wijzebeschadigd of geschuurd
worden of anderszins aangetast worden. verhoog de anteversievan de
glenoidaliscomponent niet, omdat dit kan leiden tot instabiliteit
en dislocatie.voorafgaand aan het sluiten van de incisie moeten
ectopisch bot, extern cement enbotfragmenten verwijderd worden,
omdat resten die achterblijven in het operatiegebieddislocatie,
pijn, bewegingsbeperkingen of voortijdige slijtage kunnen
veroorzaken.
• Postoperatief:patiënten dienen te worden geïnformeerd over de
voorzorgsmaatregelen die zij in hundagelijks leven moeten nemen
teneinde de levensduur van het implantaat temaximaliseren. een
regelmatig postoperatief onderzoek wordt aanbevolen om
zovroegtijdige tekenen van slijtage, loslating van de prothese enz.
te detecteren en teoverwegen of en welke acties ondernomen dienen
te worden. normale slijtage van hetimplantaat in overeenstemming
met wat ten tijde van het ontwerp bekend was, kan nooitopgevat
worden als disfunctionering of aantasting van de eigenschappen van
hetimplantaat. er dient een geschikt revalidatieprogramma te worden
opgesteld engeïmplementeerd.
OPSLAG EN HANTERENimplantaten dienen te worden opgeslagen in hun
originele, gesloten verpakking.implantaten dienen met zorg
gehanteerd te worden om de integriteit van de verpakkingte
waarborgen.
VERPAKKING EN STERILISATIEde implantaten zijn individueel
verpakt en worden steriel geleverd. alle metalenimplantaten zijn
gesteriliseerd m.b.v. gammastraling. alle polyethyleen implantaten
zijngesteriliseerd m.b.v. gamma straling en met een inert gas
gespoelde verpakking. de tegebruiken tot datum voor de sterilisatie
dient gecontroleerd te worden. alleen productendie worden
geïmplanteerd vóór de vervaldatum, kunnen als steriel worden
beschouwd.de verpakking en etiketten moeten worden gecontroleerd op
integriteit. als de verpakkingvan een implantaat beschadigd is, mag
het niet worden gebruikt. bij het openen van deverpakking en het
implanteren van het implantaat dienen alle
voorzorgsmaatregelengenomen te worden om ervoor te zorgen dat de
steriliteit niet aangetast wordt. steriliseereen implantaat nooit
opnieuw.
BEPERKTE GARANTIEtornier, inc. waarborgt dat dit product voldoet
aan de specificaties van de fabrikant en vrijis van productiefouten
op het tijdstip van levering. deze garantie sluit specifieke
gebrekenvoortvloeiend uit misbruik of onjuiste hantering van het
product na ontvangst door dekoper uit. tornier, inc. garandeert het
resultaat van de chirurgische ingreep niet.
VERKLARING SYMBOLEN
een t-markering op implantaten geeft aan dat het van titanium is
vervaardigd.een C-markering op implantaten geeft aan dat het van
kobalt-chroom is vervaardigd.

MATÉRIAUXles matériaux utilisés pour fabriquer les implants
système pour épaule simpliCiti™ sontles suivants :- le composant
métaphysaire huméral est composé d'un alliage de titane
(ti-6al-4v),conformément à la norme F136 de l'astm et d'un
revêtement à billes Cp ti en titane fritté,conformément à la norme
F-1580 de l'astm.- la tige humérale sans revêtement par projection
plasma en titane commercial pur estfabriquée en alliage de titane

CONTRE-INDICATIONSpour l'arthroplastie totale ou
hémi-arthroplastie de l'épaule :le système pour épaule simpliCiti™
est contre-indiqué dans les cas suivants :1. qualité osseuse
insuffisante pour mettre en place et soutenir l'implant, y compris
celle
due à une immaturité squelettique, une ostéoporose ou une
arthrose érosive.2. allergies ou sensibilité au métal.3. infection
sur ou à proximité du site d'implantation.4. infection distante ou
systémique.
EFFETS INDÉSIRABLESComme avec tous dispositifs implantables, les
risques peuvent inclure une résorptionosseuse, une mauvaise
formation osseuse, une lésion tissulaire ou nerveuse due à
untraumatisme chirurgical, un desserrement de l'implant ou une
migration, une subluxationinférieure temporaire pouvant s'apaiser à
mesure que la rééducation progresse, uneréaction allergique aux
matériaux composant l'implant, une infection et/ou desévénements

PROCÉDURE CHIRURGICALE• Préopératoire :
le chirurgien doit totalement maîtriser tous les aspects de la
technique chirurgicale etconnaître les indications et
contre-indications de ce type d'implant. préalablement
àl'opération, il doit s'être familiarisé avec la technique
opératoire propre au produit, qui estdisponible auprès du
fabricant. dans le cadre de l'examen préopératoire, le chirurgien
doitvérifier l'absence de tout facteur biologique, biomécanique ou
autre susceptible de nuireà la conduite de l'opération et à la
période post-opératoire. un choix de formats adéquatdoit être
disponible au moment de l'opération. vérifier que l'emballage de
l'implant n'a pasété détérioré.
• Peropératoire :la sélection d'un type et d'une taille
d'implant adaptés au patient et la position de cedernier sont
extrêmement importantes. manipuler l'implant selon une technique
aseptiqueappropriée, y compris l'utilisation de gants chirurgicaux
stériles. laisser le cache deprotection sur l'implant jusqu'à
utilisation du dispositif. les surfaces fonctionnelles del'implant
ne doivent pas subir de dommage, d'abrasion, ni d'autres
détériorations. ne pasaccroître l'antéversion du composant glénoïde
car cela pourrait entraîner une instabilité etune dislocation.
avant de refermer l'incision, nettoyer l'ensemble de l'os
éctopique, leciment étranger et les copaux d'os car les débris
restant sur le site peuvent entraîner unedislocation, une douleur,
une limitation des mouvements ou une usure prématurée.
• Postopératoire :les patients doivent être informés des
précautions à prendre au quotidien pour optimiserla durée de vie de
l'implant. un suivi post-opératoire à intervalles réguliers est
recommandéafin de détecter les signes précoces d'usure, de laxité
de la prothèse, etc., et d'envisager lesmesures à prendre. l'usure
normale de l'implant, déterminée lors de sa conception, ne peuten
aucun cas être considérée comme un dysfonctionnement ou une
détérioration descaractéristiques de l'implant. un programme de
rééducation adapté doit être envisagé etmis en place.
CONSERVATION ET MANIPULATIONles implants doivent être conservés
dans leur emballage d'origine fermé hermétiquement.ils doivent être
manipulés avec soin pour préserver l'intégrité de leur
emballage.
EMBALLAGE ET STÉRILISATIONles implants sont emballés
individuellement et fournis stériles. tous les implants en métalont
été stérilisés par rayonnement gamma. tous les implants en
polyéthylène ont étéstérilisés à l'aide de rayons gamma avec un
rinçage au gaz inerte. la date d'expiration de lastérilisation doit
être vérifiée. seuls les produits implantés avant la date de

WICHTIG: die implantation einer Gelenkprothese erfordert
kenntnisse in der anatomie,biomechanik und rekonstruktiven
Chirurgie des muskuloskeletalen systems und darf nurvon einem
qualifizierten Chirurg durchgeführt werden. der Chirurg muss die
operationgemäß dem aktuellen stand von operationstechnik und
wissenschaftlichem Fortschrittdurchführen. die patienten sollten
sich der möglichen komplikationen bewusst sein, dieinfolge der
nichtbeachtung der unten aufgelisteten vorsichtsmaßregeln auftreten
können.
BESCHREIBUNG- das tornier simpliCiti™ schulter-system ist sowohl
für die total- als auch die hemi-schulterarthroplastik vorgesehen.
wird das system als total-schulterprothese eingesetzt,werden die
metaphysäre metall-humeruskomponente, der metall-humeruskopf und
dasultrahochmolekulare polyethylenglenoid verwendet. beim einsatz
des systems als hemi-schulterprothese werden nur die metaphysäre
metall-humeruskomponente und dermetall-humeruskopf verwendet. -
eine detailliertere beschreibung der implantate und ihrer
verwendung finden sie in dentechnischen unterlagen; sie können sich
auch an ihren tornier-vertreter wenden. es istwichtig, das
simpliCiti™ schulter-system mit den für diesen zweck speziell
entwickeltensimpliCiti™ instrumenten zu implantieren. die
implantate des simpliCiti™ schulter-systems sind nicht mit
komponenten anderer hersteller kompatibel.Glenoid¬komponenten sind
mit „nur zum einzementieren” gekennzeichnet und nur fürdie
verwendung mit knochenzement bestimmt. die metaphysären
humeruskomponentensind für den unzementierten Gebrauch mit
press-Fit-verankerung bestimmt undentsprechend gekennzeichnet.
MATERIALIENFolgende materialien wurden bei der herstellung der
implantate des simpliCiti™ schulter-systems verwendet:- die
metaphysäre humeruskomponente besteht aus titanlegierung
(ti-6al-4v) gemäßastm F136 mit einer beschichtung aus gesinterten
reintitanperlen gemäß astm F 1580.- der humeruskopf ist aus einer
kobalt-Chrom-legierung gefertigt, gemäß astm F-1537und iso 5832-12,
„Chirurgische implantate — metallische werkstoffe— teil 12:
kobalt-Chrom-molybdän-knetlegierung”) oder astm F1058 (entspricht
iso 5832-7, „Chirurgischeimplantate — metallische werkstoffe — teil
7: schmiedbare und kaltumformbare
Cobalt-Chrom-nickel-molybdän-eisenlegierung“).- die
Glenoidkomponenten sind aus ultrahochmolekularem polyethylen
(uhmwpe) gemäßastm F648 bzw. iso 5834-2 hergestellt.
ANWENDUNGSGEBIET
Verwendungszweck:das simpliciti™ schulter-„system“ ist für die
total- und die hemi-arthroplastik derschulter vorgesehen.
Indikationen:• ersatz eines schwerwiegend schmerzenden und/oder
invaliden Gelenk
infolge einer osteoarthritis, traumatischen arthritis oder
rheumatoidenarthritis;
• Fraktur des humeruskopfes, wenn der Chirurg entsprechend
seinererfahrung alternative behandlungsmethoden als unzureichend
einschätzt;
• malunion des proximalen humerus mit degenerativer veränderung
deshumeruskopfes;
• avaskuläre nekrose des humeruskopfes.
Hinweise:- die metaphysären humeruskomponenten sind für den
unzementierten Gebrauchmit press-Fit-verankerung bestimmt.- die
Glenoidkomponenten sind mit „nur zum einzementieren“ gekennzeichnet
undnur für die verwendung mit knochenzement bestimmt.- dies ist ein
artikel zum einmaligen Gebrauch.
GEGENANZEIGENbei total- oder hemi-arthroplastik der schulter:das
simpliCiti™ schulter-system ist in den folgenden situationen
kontraindiziert:1. mangel an hochwertigem knochen für verankerung
und halt des implantats, u. a.
infolge eines nicht ausgereiften skeletts, osteoporose oder
erosiver arthritis;2. metallallergie oder -empfindlichkeit;3.
infektion an oder nahe der implantationsstelle;4. entfernte oder
systemische infektion.
NEBENWIRKUNGENwie bei allen implantaten können die risiken eine
knochenresorption, schlechteknochenbildung, Gewebe- oder
nervenschäden infolge eines chirurgischen traumas,lockerung oder
lageveränderung des implantats, temporäre inferiore subluxation,
die beiFortschreiten der rehabilitation abklingt, allergische
reaktionen auf implantatmaterialien,infektionen und/oder ereignisse
einschließen, wie sie bei jeder operation auftreten
können(lungenembolie, schlaganfall, herzattacken, hämatome,
lungenentzündung, verzögertewundheilung).
ZULÄSSIGE KOMBINATIONENder simpliciti nucleus (metaphysäre
humeruskomponenten) ist kompatibel sowohl mitdem simpliciti als
auch mit dem affiniti humeruskopf-system. außerdem sind
beidehumeruskopf-systeme in bestimmten kombinationen mit dem
aequalis und dem affinitiGlenoid-system von tornier kompatibel.

tabellen zur nichtübereinstimmung von komponentenin dokument

WARNHINWEISE UND VORSICHTSMASSNAHMENdieses produkt wird steril
verpackt geliefert und ist für den einmalGebrauCh bestimmt.sollte
das implantat oder die verpackung beschädigt, das verfallsdatum
abgelaufen oderdie sterilität aus irgendeinem Grund in Frage
gestellt sein, sollte das implantat nichtverwendet werden. niCht
reinigen, resterilisieren oder wiederverwenden, da esansonsten zu
einer beeinträchtigung der leistungsfähigkeit der produkte kommen
kannund die patienten der Gefahr der Übertragung von
infektionskrankheiten ausgesetzt seinkönnen.
• die implantate sind nach entnahme aus dem körper als
biologisch gefährlichesmaterial zu entsorgen.
• nicht zusammen mit prothesen anderer hersteller verwenden.•
keine probeimplantate als implantate verwenden.• das implantat
nicht verändern oder modifizieren.
MRT-WARNHINWEIS: dieses produkt wurde nicht mit blick auf
sicherheit und verträglichkeit oder hinsichtlicherhitzen oder
migration im mr-umfeld überprüft.sollten patienten darauf
hingewiesen werden, dass es zahlreiche unterschiedliche
herstellerund Generationen von mrt-Geräten gibt und dass tornier
inc. keine Gewährleistunghinsichtlich der kompatibilität dieses
produkts mit einem bestimmten mrt-Gerät gebenkann. es wird
empfohlen, dass patienten und ärzte mit dem hersteller des
betreffendenmrt-Geräts rücksprache halten, um die kompatibilität
dieses produkts mit dem mrt-Gerätzu erörtern, bevor entsprechende
mrt- untersuchungen durchgeführt werden.die nichtbeachtung dieser
warnhinweise und vorsichtsmaßregeln kann zu komplikationenbeim
patienten führen.
VORSICHTSMASSREGELNdie voraussichtliche funktionelle lebensdauer
wurde für diese prothese noch nichtermittelt.wenn der Chirurg
bestimmt, dass sich dieses implantat für einen patienten mit einer
derfolgenden beschwerden eignet, muss der Chirurg den patienten
über die begrenzte

belastbarkeit des implantats, die möglichkeit von
lageveränderungen, migration,lockerung oder versagen des implantats
und über die vorsichtsmaßregeln aufklären, dieder patient befolgen
muss, um die möglichkeit eines unerwünschten klinischen
ergebnisseszu minimieren.die folgenden umstände oder erkrankungen
bedeuten schwere belastungen für dasimplantat:1. adipositas;2.
ausüben von manuellen arbeiten oder aktivitäten;3. bestimmte
sportarten;4. alter und aktivitätsumfang des patienten;5.
erkrankungen oder Gleichgewichtsstörungen, die zum sturz führen
können;6. alkohol- oder drogensucht;7. geistige einstellungen oder
störungen, die zur nichtbefolgung der ärztlichen
anordnungen führen könnten.unter den folgenden bedingungen kann
die Fixierung der schulterimplantate nachteiligbeeinflusst werden,
wenn sie zu einem schwachen Fundament oder
unzureichenderknochensubstanz führen:1. ausgeprägte osteoporose,
tumore oder allgemein schlechte knochensubstanz; 2. metabolische
oder systemische störungen, pharma kologische behandlungen;3.
anamnese genereller oder lokaler infektionen;4. schwere
deformierungen;5. allergische reaktionen auf die
implantatmaterialien;6. Gewebereaktionen auf implantatkorrosion
oder abriebteilchen;7. behinderungen anderer Gelenke.die verwendung
einer Glenoidprothese bei patienten mit
manschettenrupturarthropathiekann das risiko einer lockerung des
Glenoids aufgrund der proximalen migration und nichtanatomischen
belastung erhöhen.
ABLAUF DER OPERATION• Präoperativ:
der Chirurg muss mit allen aspekten der chirurgischen technik
vollständig vertraut seinund die indikationen und kontra
indikationen dieses implantattyps kennen. der Chirurgmuss sich vor
der operation mit der besonderen operations technik für das
produktvertraut machen, die beim hersteller erhältlich ist. als
teil der präoperativen Überprüfungmuss der Chirurg sicherstellen,
dass keine biologischen, biomechanischen oder anderenFaktoren
vorliegen, die den korrekten verlauf der operation und der
postoperativen periodebeeinträchtigen könnten. während der
operation muss eine auswahl an implantatenverschiedener Größen zur
hand sein. es muss überprüft werden, ob dieimplantatverpackung
schäden erlitten hat.
• Perioperativ:die korrekte auswahl von typ und Größe des
implantats, das sich für den patienten eignet,und die position des
implantats sind äußerst wichtig. handhaben sie das implantat
unterverwendung einer geeigneten aseptischen technik; dazu gehört
die benutzung sterileroperationshandschuhe. entfernen sie die
schutzfolie erst dann, wenn das implantatbenötigt wird. die
funktionellen oberflächen des implantats dürfen keine
schäden,abnutzung oder andere beeinträchtigungen erleiden. erhöhen
sie die anteversion derGlenoidkomponente nicht, da dies zu einer
instabilität oder lageveränderung führenkönnte. entfernen sie vor
dem verschluss der inzision allen ektopischen
knochen,überschüssigen zement und knochensplitter, da an der
operationsstelle zurückgelasseneablagerungen zu lage veränderungen,
schmerzen, eingeschränkter beweglichkeit odervorzeitiger abnutzung
führen können.
• Postoperativ:die patienten müssen über die vorsichtsmaßregeln
in kenntnis gesetzt werden, die sie imalltäglichen leben befolgen
müssen, um zur verlängerung der lebensdauer des
implantatsbeizutragen. es wird empfohlen, regelmäßig postoperative
nachuntersuchungendurchzuführen, um frühe zeichen von verschleiß,
lockerung der prothese, etc. zu erkennenund entsprechende
Gegenmaßnahmen planen zu können. eine normale abnutzung
desimplantats gemäß dem kenntnisstand zur zeit seiner entwicklung
kann keinesfalls alsFehlfunktion oder verschlechterung der
eigenschaften des implantats betrachtet werden.es muss ein
geeignetes rehabilitationsprogramm erstellt und durchgeführt
werden.
LAGERUNG UND HANDHABUNGdie implantate in ihrer versiegelten
originalverpackung lagern. die implantate vorsichtighandhaben, um
die unversehrtheit ihrer verpackung zu gewährleisten.
VERPACKUNG UND STERILISATIONdie implantate sind einzeln verpackt
und werden steril geliefert. alle metallimplantate sindmit
Gammastrahlung sterilisiert. alle polyethylenimplantate sind mit
Gammastrahlungsterilisiert und unter inertgasatmosphäre verpackt.
das verfallsdatum für die sterilisationmuss überprüft werden. nur
solche produkte, die vor dem verfallsdatum implantiertwerden,
können als steril angesehen werden. die verpackung und
kennzeichnung muss aufihre unversehrtheit überprüft werden.
verwenden sie keine implantate, deren verpackungbeschädigt ist.
beim Öffnen der verpackung des implantats und beim einführen
desimplantats müssen sämtliche vorsichtsmaßnahmen zur wahrung der
sterilität getroffenwerden. das implantat niemals erneut
sterilisieren und implantieren.

sistema muscoloscheletrico e può essereeffettuato solo da un

DESCRIZIONE- il sistema per spalla simpliCiti™ di tornier è
indicato per l'uso nell'artroplastica totale oparziale della
spalla. la protesi per l'artroplastica totale della spalla è
costituita da uncomponente omerale metafiseale in metallo, da una
testa omerale in metallo e da unacomponente glenoidea in
polietilene a elevato peso molecolare. la protesi
perl'artroplastica parziale della spalla è costituita da un
componente omerale metafiseale inmetallo e da una testa omerale in
metallo. - per una descrizione più dettagliata degli impianti e del
loro utilizzo, consultare ladocumentazione tecnica o un
rappresentante di tornier. è indispensabile impiantare ilsistema
per la spalla simpliCiti™ con la strumentazione simpliCiti™
specificatamenteprogettata a questo scopo. Gli impianti del sistema
per spalla simpliCiti™ non sonocompatibili con i componenti di
altri produttori. i componenti glenoide sono contrassegnaticon
l'indicazione "esclusivamente per uso cementato" e devono essere
usati solo concemento osseo. i componenti omerali metafiseali sono
indicati, e contrassegnati, per ilfissaggio a pressione senza

MATERIALIi materiali usati per produrre gli impianti del sistema

INDICAZIONI PER L'USO
Destinazione d'usoil sistema per spalla simpliciti™ è destinato
all'uso nell'artroplastica totale o parzialedella spalla.
Indicazioni• articolazione molto dolorante e/o compromessa a
causa di osteoartrite,
artrite traumatica o artrite reumatoide.• Frattura della testa
omerale, nei casi in cui il chirurgo giudichi, in base alla
propria esperienza, che metodi di trattamento diversi
risulterebberoinsoddisfacenti.
• errata unione dell'omero prossimale con degenerazione della
testa omerale.• necrosi avascolare della testa omerale.
Note:- i componenti omerali metafiseali sono indicati per il
fissaggio a pressione senzacemento osseo.- i componenti glenoidei
sono contrassegnati con l'indicazione "esclusivamente peruso
cementato" e devono essere usati solo con cemento osseo.- il

CONTROINDICAZIONIper i sistemi di artroplastica totale o
parziale della spallail sistema per spalla simpliCiti™ è
controindicato nelle seguenti condizioni:1. massa ossea
insufficiente per consentire l'inserimento e il sostegno
dell'impianto,
anche se dovuta a immaturità scheletrica, osteoporosi o artrite
erosiva.2. reazioni allergiche o sensibilità al metallo.3.
infezione nel o in prossimità del sito di impianto.4. infezione
distante o sistemica.
EFFETTI AVVERSICome per tutti i dispositivi impiantabili, i
rischi possono includere riassorbimento osseo,formazione di tessuto
osseo di scarsa qualità, danni ai tessuti o ai nervi risultanti da
traumichirurgici, allentamento o migrazione dei componenti,
sublussazione inferiore temporaneache potrebbe diminuire con
l'avanzamento della riabilitazione, reazioni allergiche aimateriali
impiantati, infezione e/o tutti gli eventi comuni a ogni intervento
chirurgico(embolia polmonare, infarto, attacco cardiaco, ematoma,
polmonite e cicatrizzazione lenta).
COMBINAZIONI APPROVATEil simpliciti nucleus (i componenti
omerali metafiseali) sono stati progettati in modo daessere
compatibili con i sistemi di teste omerali simpliciti e affiniti.
inoltre i sistemi di testeomerali, in determinate combinazioni,
sono compatibili con i sistemi glenoidei aequalis eaffiniti di

AVVERTENZE E PRECAUZIONIquesto prodotto è fornito in condizioni
sterili in confezione integra ed èesClusivamente monouso. non
utilizzare il prodotto se l’impianto o la confezioneappaiono
danneggiati, se la data di scadenza è stata superata o se la
sterilità non è piùgarantita per qualsivoglia motivo. non pulire,

INDICAZIONI DI ATTENZIONEla vita utile funzionale di questo

le seguenti condizioni possono eccessivamente sovraccaricare
l'impianto:1. obesità2. lavori o attività manuali3. particolari

Condizioni mediche o problemi di equilibrio che potrebbero

compromettere la fissazione degli impianti per spalla incaso di

osteoporosi marcata, tumori e in generale riserva ossea
insufficiente2. disturbi metabolici e sistemici, trattamenti
farmacologici3. anamnesi di infezioni generali o locali4. Gravi
deformità5. reazioni allergiche ai materiali dell'impianto6.
reazioni tissutali in caso di corrosione dell'impianto o residui
dovuti a usura7. disabilità delle altre articolazionil'uso di una
protesi glenoidea nei pazienti con artropatia da rottura della
cuffia dei rotatoripotrebbe incrementare il rischio di allentamento
glenoideo a causa della migrazioneprossimale e di carichi non
anatomici.
PROCEDURA CHIRURGICA• Prima dell'intervento:
il chirurgo dovrà conoscere a fondo tutti gli aspetti della
tecnica chirurgica, le indicazioni econtroindicazioni di questo
tipo di impianto. prima dell'intervento, il chirurgo
dovràrichiedere al produttore informazioni sulla tecnica operatoria
specifica per il prodotto.durante l'esame pre-operatorio, il
chirurgo è tenuto a controllare che nessun fattorebiologico,
biomeccanico o di altra natura possa impedire la corretta
esecuzionedell'intervento o compromettere la fase post-operatoria.
durante l'intervento deve esseredisponibile una scelta di
dispositivi di varie dimensioni. verificare che la
confezionedell'impianto non sia stata danneggiata.
• Durante l'intervento:è estremamente importante scegliere un
impianto del tipo e delle dimensioni appropriatiper il paziente e
posizionarlo correttamente. manipolare l'impianto con una tecnica
asetticaappropriata che preveda anche l'uso di guanti chirurgici
sterili. rimuovere la coperturaprotettiva solo al momento
dell'inserimento del dispositivo. le superfici
funzionalidell'impianto non devono presentare tracce di danni,
abrasioni o deterioramento. nonincrementare l'antiversione del
componente glenoideo per evitare problemi di instabilitàe
dislocazione. prima di chiudere l'incisione, rimuovere tutto l'osso
ectopico, il cementoestraneo e i frammenti ossei poiché potrebbero
provocare dislocazione, dolore, limitazionedi movimento o usura
prematura.
• Dopo l'intervento:i pazienti devono essere informati delle
precauzioni che devono seguire durante le normaliattività
quotidiane per estendere la vita utile dell'impianto. è
consigliabile prevedereregolari visite post-operatorie per poter
identificare precocemente eventuali tracce di usura,allentamento
della protesi, ecc. e decidere quale azione correttiva
intraprendere. in base alleconoscenze disponibili al momento della
progettazione dell'impianto, la normale usuranon può essere in
alcun modo considerata una disfunzione o un deterioramento
dellecaratteristiche dell'impianto. è necessario prevedere e
adottare un programma diriabilitazione adeguato.
CONSERVAZIONE E MANIPOLAZIONEGli impianti devono essere
conservati nella loro confezione originale sigillata. Gli
impiantidevono essere manipolati con attenzione per preservare
l'integrità della confezione.
CONFEZIONAMENTO E STERILIZZAZIONEGli impianti vengono forniti in
confezioni singole sterili. tutti gli impianti in metallo sonostati
sterilizzati per irradiazione ai raggi gamma. tutti gli impianti in
polietilene sono statisterilizzati e confezionati mediante gas
inerte. Controllare la data di scadenza dellasterilizzazione.
possono essere considerati sterili solo i prodotti impiantati prima
della datadi scadenza. Controllare che la confezione e le etichette
siano integre. non utilizzarel'impianto se la confezione è
danneggiata. prendere tutte le precauzioni necessarie pergarantire
la sterilità al momento dell'apertura della confezione
dell'impianto e del suoinserimento. non impiantare un dispositivo
risterilizzato.

DESCRIPCIÓN- el sistema para el hombro simpliCiti™ de tornier
está concebido para su uso en laartroplastia de hombro tanto
parcial como total. Como sistema de hombro total, consta deun
componente humeral metálico metafisario, una cabeza humeral
metálica y un glenoidede polietileno de peso molecular ultra
elevado. Como sistema de hombro parcial,solamente se utilizan el
componente humeral metálico metafisario y la cabeza
humeralmetálica. - si desea una descripción más detallada de los
implantes y de su utilización, consulte ladocumentación técnica o
póngase en contacto con su representante de tornier. esfundamental
implantar el sistema para el hombro simpliCiti™ con el
instrumentalsimpliCiti™ diseñado específicamente para este fin. los
implantes del sistema para elhombro simpliCiti™ no son compatibles
con los componentes de otros fabricantes. loscomponentes glenoides
están etiquetados como “para uso con cemento exclusivamente”y están
indicados exclusivamente para su utilización con cemento óseo. los

MATERIALESlos materiales utilizados en la fabricación de los

Indicaciones:• una articulación muy dolorosa y/o gravemente
incapacitada, como
resultado de osteoartritis, artritis traumática o artritis
reumatoide.• Fractura de la cabeza humeral en la que, según la
experiencia del cirujano,
los métodos alternativos de tratamiento no resulten
satisfactorios.• pseudoartrosis del húmero proximal con
degeneración de la cabeza
humeral.• necrosis avascular de la cabeza humeral.
Notas: - los componentes humerales metafisarios están indicados
para uso de ajuste porpresión sin cemento.- los componentes
glenoides están etiquetados como “para uso con
cementoexclusivamente” y están indicados exclusivamente para su
utilización con cementoóseo.- este es un dispositivo de un solo

CONTRAINDICACIONESpara hombro total o parcial:el sistema para el
hombro simpliCiti™ está contraindicado en las siguientes
situaciones:1. Falta de suficiente masa ósea en buen estado para
asentar y soportar el implante,
especialmente como consecuencia de inmadurez esquelética,
osteoporosis o artritiserosiva.
2. alergias o sensibilidad al metal.3. infección en el lugar del
implante o en las inmediaciones del mismo.4. infección distante o
sistémica.
EFECTOS NEGATIVOSal igual que con todos los dispositivos
implantables, los riesgos pueden incluir resorciónósea, formación
ósea no satisfactoria, daños en tejidos o nervios como resultado
detraumatismos quirúrgicos, aflojamiento o migración del implante,
subluxación temporalinferior que puede desaparecer con
rehabilitación, reacción alérgica a los materialesutilizados en la
implante, infección y/o acontecimientos adversos comunes a
cualquierintervención quirúrgica (embolia pulmonar, ictus, infarto
de miocardio, hematoma,neumonía, cicatrización lenta de las

COMBINACIÓN APROBADAel simpliciti nucleus (componentes humerales
metafisarios) se ha diseñado de modo quesea compatible con los

compatibles con los sistemasde glenoide tornier aequalis y

ADVERTENCIAS Y PRECAUCIONESeste producto se suministra estéril
en un envase sin desperfectos y es de un solo uso.si el implante o
el envase presentaran desperfectos, hubiera expirado la caducidad o
laesterilidad quedara comprometida por cualquier motivo, no deberá
utilizarse elimplante. no lo limpie ni lo vuelva a esterilizar ni a
usar, ya que ello puede ocasionardaños o afectar el rendimiento de
los dispositivos y puede exponer al paciente al riesgode
transmisión de enfermedades infecciosas.
• tras extraer el implante, siga el procedimiento de desecho
correspondiente a losmateriales con riesgo biológico.
• no lo utilice con un dispositivo de otros fabricantes.• no use
pruebas con los implantes.• no altere ni modifique el implante.
ADVERTENCIA SOBRE IRM: no se ha evaluado la seguridad ni la
compatibilidad de este producto respecto a laadquisición de
imágenes por resonancia magnética, ni se ha sometido a prueba
elcalentamiento y la migración.es necesario informar a los
pacientes acerca de la existencia de diversos fabricantes
ygeneraciones de equipos de irm, y tornier inc. no puede garantizar

este dispositivo.si el cirujano determina que el implante resulta
adecuado para un paciente con cualquierade las siguientes

dislocación, migración, aflojamientoo fallo del implante y de las

modo adverso la fijación de los implantes de hombro,si las
condiciones crean un entorno pobre o un material óseo de mala
calidad:1. osteoporosis marcada, tumores o material óseo de mala
calidad en general. 2. trastornos metabólicos o sistémicos,
tratamientos farmacológicos.3. antecedentes de infecciones
generalizadas o locales.4. deformidades graves.5. reacciones
alérgicas a los materiales del implante.6. reacciones del tejido a
la corrosión del implante o a los residuos por desgaste.7.
discapacidades de otras articulaciones.el uso de prótesis de
glenoide en pacientes con artropatía por desgarro de manguito
podríaincrementar el riesgo de aflojamiento del glenoide debido a
la migración proximal y a unacarga no anatómica.
PROCESO QUIRÚRGICO• Antes de la intervención:
el cirujano debe tener un dominio profundo de todos los aspectos
de la técnica quirúrgicay conocer las indicaciones y
contraindicaciones de este tipo de implante. antes de
laintervención, el cirujano debe haberse familiarizado con la
técnica quirúrgica especificadel producto, facilitada por el
fabricante. Como parte de la exploración previa a laintervención,
el cirujano debe comprobar que no existan factores biológicos,
biomecánicoso de otro tipo que puedan afectar a la correcta
ejecución de la intervención y del periodopostoperatorio. en el
momento de la intervención, debe estar disponible una gama
detamaños adecuada. Compruebe que el envase del implante no haya
sufrido ningúndeterioro.
• Antes de la intervención:es extremadamente importante realizar
una correcta selección del tipo y tamaño delimplante adecuado para
el paciente, así como la posición del mismo. manipule el
implantesiguiendo una técnica aséptica adecuada, que incluya el uso
de guantes quirúrgicosestériles. no retire la cubierta protectora
hasta que vaya a utilizar el dispositivo. lassuperficies
funcionales del implante no deben sufrir ningún daño, abrasión ni
deterioro deotro tipo. no incremente la anteversión del componente
glenoide, dado que podríatraducirse en inestabilidad y dislocación.
antes de cerrar la incisión, limpie todo el huesoectópico, los
restos de cemento y los fragmentos de hueso, dado que los residuos
quepuedan quedar en el lugar de la intervención pueden provocar
dislocación, dolor,restricciones del movimiento o desgaste
prematuro.

ALMACENAMIENTO Y MANIPULACIÓNlos implantes deben almacenarse en
su envase original sellado. los implantes deben sermanipulados con
