Raised the road safety awareness in the community

by the horizontal communication for road safety prevention.

Objectives:

– This project aimed to establish and practice curriculum on the road safety

communication and capacity building the EMS personnel to raise

community awareness.

Methods:

– We contributed the curriculum as an intervention to capacity building the

EMS personnel to proactive prevention.

– The skill developed curriculum has 2 contents included road safety and

mass communication topics in 3 days training.

– This program aimed to develop mass communication skill to EMS

personnel in communities to communicate the road safety issues in their

communities.

– We selected participant from a high risk area over the country to join this

program.

Results:

The curriculum that integrates 2 contents,

Road safety and Mass communication

We provided 3 from 5 training and 89 participants

1) East : Chonburi province (Sukhumvit road)

2) Central : Samutsongkhram province (Rama2 road)

3) N/E : Nakhon Ratchasima province (Mittraphap road)

4) North : Pitsanuloke province

5) South : Songkhla province

– 19 documentary reports

Crash report

Basic crash analysis

Black spot analysis

Suggestion the traffic accident solution to their community

– All report sent to pool data center to broadcast in national level

Conclusions:

– The program aims to provide road safety communications consistent with

the context of each community

– EMS personnel vs Journalists Collaboration in road safety

– People in community can communicate about road safety for prevention

by themselves.

– to raise community’s awareness to solve the traffic accident in the

community for the proactive prevention.

• We have to evaluate this project when the training is finished, • In particular, people the community both Senders vs Receivers

and Messages vs Feedback in communication process for develop the curriculum in the future.
