Example 1: Data Center Consolidation
27
White Sands Missile Range New Mexico
Challenges: Needed to build a data center to support High density Cisco UCS and EMC Without upgrading or modifying Legacy traditional raised floor. They are planning to move in next 24 months and wanted to go GREEN at the same time. Solution: The RASER DX allowed them to deploy a GREEN data center in under 8 weeks. The RASER DX can be moved into new facility without upgrading the new building and not having to un-rack the IT equipment. Benefits: Rapid deployment; $900,000 cap ex savings by not retro fitting current data center, scalability, and the ability to relocate the data center to a new location as planned.
High Density Data Center Consolidation
Confidential 2011 – www.ellipticalmobilesolutions.com
• Facility was only 3% of total cost vs. 50%.
• $60,000 to deploy 1.8 Million in new IT vs $900,000 to upgrade the entire facility.
• Eliminated Crac units and chillers completely
• UPS AND GENERATORS can now support HVAC and IT load.
• Allowed client to upgrade everything this year instead of 24-36 months from now.

Example 2: Multiple Office Data Center
29
ECOtality, Inc. is a leader in clean electric transportation and storage technologies. ECOtality is the parent company of ECOtality North America, Innergy Power Corporation, and Fuel Cell Store.
Challenges: Ecotality needed to build a data center closet to support the rapid growth of the company. Solution: The C3-S.P.E.A.R. allowed them to deploy a data center in one of their manufacturing warehouse in under 8 weeks. The C3-S.P.E.A.R. also provided a “Clean IT” solution consistent with the company’s mission. Benefits: Rapid deployment; $120,000 capex savings by not converting valuable office space into a data closet; scalability, and the ability to relocate the data center to a new location as the company grows.

Example 3: Disaster Recovery
30
CVC is the largest provider of cardiovascular medicine in Arizona. It state-of-the-art facilities offer sophisticated medical consultations and advanced testing including vascular and cardiac ultrasound, surgical diagnostics, nuclear cardiology, electrophysiology and sleep studies.
Challenges: The client was in need of a disaster recovery solution, but did not want to use a hosting facility or build a data center closet in a separate location. Data Center Retrofit Solution: The group purchased a C3-S.P.E.A.R. with a skid cart bottom to house its IT equipment. Located in an empty room in one of its offices, the enclosure can easily be relocated to a different location using a pallet jack. Benefits: Rapid deployment in 8 weeks and under budget; drop in place architecture which greatly reduced CapEx and OpEX costs; improved performance and simplified implementation.

Example 4: Remote Office Support
31
The Los Angeles County Superior Court is the largest trial court system n the United States with 600 courtrooms and 50 courthouses. The Courts serve 9.5 million people throughout the 4,000 square mile county. About 100,000 people use the court system each day for traffic violations; family law and probate matters; small claims; as well as civil, juvenile and criminal cases.
Challenges: Los Angeles County had a budget deficit with little money to spend while needing remote data centers for their court system. A strained California power grid provided constant problems to power and cool their existing data center. Additionally, Los Angeles is located in one of the most disaster prone areas of the country, requiring the court to have a disaster tolerant infrastructure. Solution: The courts purchased six C3-S.P.E.A.R.s with Mission Critical Venting. This allowed them to eliminate downtime while providing remote offices with a secure, flexible infrastructure to protect their court records and data bases. Benefits: Rapid deployment in 10 weeks; security,; scalability for long term growth; mobility; and shock and vibration protection.
