Camp Staff Position

Job Duties Minimum Qualifications

Waterfront Counselor

Dive into a rewarding experience by spending your day at the lake helping girls to canoe and kayak at the waterfront and by managing conflict resolution between campers in the evenings. The waterfront counselor will work with the waterfront staff to provide a quality program for 12-32 campers at the lake. You will supervise free lake time, teach and lead watercraft lessons to multiple groups of girls a day including canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and sailing, perform lifeguard duties, and assist in the units and kitchen when you aren’t at the lake.

• 18+ years old• Life guarding certification required• Small Craft Safety certification preferred

Waterfront Director

Experience every day at the lake and manage a team of three to provide the best program for girls. The waterfront director will supervise the waterfront counselors, oversee the safety and operation of the waterfront program, develop waterfront programs and curriculums, perform lifeguard duties and in-service trainings, and assist in other areas of camp as assigned when you aren’t running a program.

• 21+ years old• Six months

supervisory experience required

• Waterfront life guarding preferred

• Small Craft Safety Certification preferred

Assistant Leadership Director

Support girls in empowering themselves by leading them through various camp programs. This is a great position for a young female who participated in the Girl Scouts of Utah’s Leadership Program. The assistant leadership director will assist with providing quality leadership programs for 6-24 campers (counselor-in-training programs), and teach and lead basic camp programs while also assisting in program areas. Basic camp program include outdoor skills (fire building, navigation, knots, etc.), games, arts and crafts, outdoor cooking, Girl Scout badge sessions, and environmental education activities. The Leadership Curriculum is focused around the Camp Program Quality Assessment. The Assistant Leadership Director will spend time at both Camp Cloud Rim and Trefoil Ranch.

• 19+ years old

• Documented experience working with youth ages 13-18 is required

• Documented course work in youth development and leadership preferred

Leadership Director

Gain a rewarding experience by mentoring and guiding teenagers to become leaders and role models to our younger girls. Those who have served in leadership programs at school, church, or in a club are well-suited for this position. The leadership director will supervise the assistant leadership director, oversee the leadership program and curriculums, teach and lead basic camp program, and assist in program areas. Basic camp program include outdoor skills (fire building, navigation, knots, etc.), games, arts and crafts, outdoor cooking, Girl Scout badge sessions, and environmental education activities. Unit Leader

Experience true leadership by guiding and empowering unit counselors and campers. The unit leaders oversee the campers and counselors in program groups, act as a liaison between staff, campers and administration, teach and lead a basic camp program, and assist in other program areas. Basic camp programs include outdoor skills (fire building, navigation, knots, etc.), games, arts and crafts, outdoor cooking, Girl Scout badge sessions, and environmental education activities.

Kitchen Assistant

Explore the culinary arts’ basics in this short-term position. The kitchen assistant will prepare food, wash dishes, set up and clear meals, ensure kitchen cleanliness, and the dining hall runs smoothly during meals. Join with the camp community when your schedule allows.

• 18+ years old• Experience working with food service preferred

Kitchen Assistant Director

Discover the perfect stepping stone towards a career in food service. The kitchen assistant director will assist in managing food service operations and meal preparation and take primary responsibility for special diets and pack outs.

• 21+ years old and documented experience working in a commercial kitchen

• Food Handler’s permit required

Kitchen Director

Lead a culinary team and create delicious food for camp staff and campers. The kitchen director will supervise the kitchen staff, manage food services, follow menus, prepare nutritious kid-friendly meals and snacks, place food orders, and maintain safety and sanitation in the kitchen.

• 21+ years old• Food Safety Manager certification required• Documented experience working in a

commercial kitchen required• Six months of supervisory experience required

Health Supervisor

Care and work with campers and staff to add outdoor medical experience to your resume as a nursing student or fill your summer as a camp nurse. The health supervisor will oversee the care and safety of the entire camp community including distributing daily medications, assessing camper and staff health needs, administering first-aid application, responding to camp medical emergencies, and assisting the administrative team as needed.

• 21+ years old• Registered Nurse or higher qualification

preferred• WFR, EMT, or higher qualification required

Business Manager

Gain valuable life-long experience of the camp administrative process that can be used as transferable skills elsewhere. The business manager will oversee the administrative side of camp by answering the phones, sorting camp mail and packages, assisting with the camp store, managing social media, and purchasing program supplies. You will communicate with campers, staff, parents, and Girl Scouts of Utah staff in-person and through social media, emails, and the telephone.

• 21+ years old• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Facebook,

and digital photography preferred• Strong organizational and communication skills

required• Excellent driving record required (for driving

camp vehicle)

Program and Art Director

Design creative and educational camp programs for both Camp Cloud Rim and Trefoil Ranch. As program director, you will design and implement all camp programming and assist in program areas of camp as needed. Oversee the art programs and curriculums including pottery (Camp Cloud Rim), Woodworking (Trefoil Ranch), drawing, painting, and general camp arts and crafts. Responsibilities maintaining equipment, developing curriculum, supervising campers, and assisting in all areas of camp as needed.

• 21+ years old• Camp programming experience required• Documented experience in pottery or

woodworking preferred• Background in program areas preferred

Assistant Camp Director

Camp Staff Position

Job Duties Minimum Qualifications

Riding Counselor

Embrace your love of horses and take this opportunity as a first step to an Equestrian career. The riding counselor will work with the equestrian staff to provide a quality program for a group of 6-24 campers at the stables. Teach and lead lessons to multiple groups each day including riding lessons, ground school lessons, and stable chores. Basic horse care include catching, feeding, grooming, tacking, releasing the horses daily and assisting in the units and kitchen when you aren’t at the stables.

• 18+ years old• Advanced Western equestrian skills required• Experience teaching youth group riding lessons

preferred• Experience working with youth required

Wrangler

Be the primary caregiver for Trefoil Ranch’s herd of horses. The wrangler will oversee the care and maintenance of 18 horses and provide any necessary training, manage first-aid including administering medications, and assist with lessons. Basic horse care include catching, feeding, grooming, tacking, releasing the horses daily, and assisting in the units and kitchen when you aren’t at the stables.

• 18+ years old• Documented

Assistant Equestrian Director

Gain further riding experience and leadership skills by teaching girls about horse care and stable maintenance. The assistant equestrian director will assist with the overall operation of the horse stables and horseback riding program and is responsible for the ground school program and curriculum. Horse care include catching, feeding, grooming, tacking, releasing the horses daily, and assisting in other areas of camp as assigned when you aren’t at the stables.

• 21+ years old • CHA certification

Equestrian Director

Become equipped for a career in the equine industry by managing a comprehensive horseback riding curriculum with young adults and 20 horses. The equestrian director is responsible for supervising the equestrian staff (assistant equestrian director, wrangler and riding counselors), overseeing the safety and operation of the horse stables and horseback riding program, and assisting in other areas of camp as assigned when you aren’t at the stables.

• 21+ years old• CHA certification

Program Counselor

Gain skills in a variety of program areas all throughout camp. The program counselor will spend their days at the high ropes course, low ropes course, archery range, hatchet range, woodworking shop, art room, and more. Interact with all girls at camp in a variety of settings. When not in a program area, the program counselor will assist in the units and kitchen.

High Adventure Director
