All women can be at risk for cervical cancer- it occurs most often in women over age 30. 2. Almost all cervical cancers are caused by HPV- you can be screened for HPV via a physician. 3. Every 4-½ minutes, a baby is born with a birth defect in the US- nearly 120,000 each year. 4. While the cause of birth defects is a combination of many things, some things that can increase the chances are smoking or drinking during pregnancy, being obese or having uncontrolled diabetes during pregnancy and typically being over the age of 34. 5. Every two seconds someone in the US needs blood about 41,000 blood donations are needed every day. 6. Although an estimated 38 percent of the US population is eligible to donate, less than 10% actually do each year. 7. Glaucoma is a group of diseases that damage the eye’s optic nerve and can result in vision loss and blindness. 8.
