SKILL LAB: MANAGER’S SHEETPreparation for Skill Lab:

1. Prepare an example of an injury event that could happen at your workplace. Make sure to prepare all the details that employees will need to share with Emergency Medical Services. Find out how your local emergency dispatchers handle non-English speaker calls.

Facilitation of Skill Lab:1. Instruct employees to review the type of information they would need to share with Emer-

gency Medical Services during an emergency. This information is listed on their instruction sheet.

2. Present the emergency scenario to the employees.3. Instruct employees to write down the information they would need to share with Emergency

Medical Services.4. Role play a call to Emergency Medical Services. Have the employee call your cell phone, or

just pretend to call. You are the emergency dispatcher asking questions and the employee is providing the information.

5. Rate the employees and provide feedback for each step.Take-away Question:Ask the employees the take-away question and 2-3 days later have them answer the question. If they are new employees, wait a week to have them answer the question.
