SSCG Selects GTC for a Second Isom Unit   C5-C6 Technology being added to Dongying Complex GTC Technology will provide its light naphtha isomerization technology for Shandong Sincier Chemical Group’s (SSCG) new refinery and petrochemicals complex in Dongying, Shandong province, People’s Republic of China. Isomalk-2 ℠ technology will be used to produce an isomerate gasoline blend stock component as part of the project for production of clean fuels with higher added value at the refinery. This project is in addition to an award announced last month in which GTC is providing its n-butane isomerization technology (Isomalk 3) for a C4 unit at the same complex.

Zhepeng Liu, GTC Licensing Manager, said, “This second award will be the first light naphtha isomerization unit in Asia using a high-performance non-chlorinated SI-2 mixed metal oxide catalyst. We believe that SSCG will enjoy the robust, reliable performance of the Isomalk-2℠ process as well as the high conversions to the branched paraffins.” Isomalk-2℠ is part of the Isomalk℠ family of technologies, which also includes the afore mentioned Isomalk-3℠ for n-butane isomerization technology and Isomalk-4 ℠ , a unique process for C7 paraffin isomerization.

GTC’s scope of work for this project includes licensing, basic engineering design, proprietary catalyst supply and technical service for the C5/C6 isomerization unit and design of the naphtha and reformate splitters.

 GTC Beijing Employee Awards   GTC’s Beijing Office recognized its Employees of the Year at a lunch gathering in January.  

  Sam Kumar, President‐GTC  Beijing, congratulated Fiona Li – 

“Most Well‐Dressed”; Yibang Ren – “Most Energetic”; and Xuecheng 

Kan – “Most Influential”.  Other winners were Wendy Wang – 

“Most Helpful”; and Eric Zhang – “Most Punctual”. 

Not everyone had an award, but they all had a great time.
