At Emmaus , we va lue
education, and we focus on
four areas that we like to call
the
“Comet Commitments.”
These four values make
Emmaus what it is, and what
our students become.
CHRIST is the head of every-
thing that we do. It is by faith that we are saved, and that
saving love is what God gives
us freely. From daily religion
classes to chapel services to
personal faith and moral
development, Biblical truth is
taught.
CURRICULUM i s a n
important aspect of Emmaus,
and it is not taken lightly.
Written work and combined
hands on learning helps stu-
dents not just learn facts, but
to be able to problem solve by
applying those facts to real
world situations. Technology
integration helps prepare stu-dents for the 21st Century
competitive world. Expository
writing and language develop-
ment will prepare students for
high school. Academic achieve-
ment is key to success, and
Emmaus prepares its students
for future success.
CHARACTER is developed
in several ways at Emmaus.
Moral values are taught and
relationships are developed
using those values. Good
sportsmanship is taught
through students participating
on sports teams, in cooperative
learning groups, and other
forms of competition. Self confidence is boosted as stu-
dents learn to become respon-
sible young adults through a
variety of ways. Public speaking
is taught through oral reports,
participating in drama and mu-
sicals and helping in chapel or
church services.
The Emmaus Lutheran School Difference
What Other’s Say about Emmaus Lutheran
A sense of family is apparent at
Emmaus. Students feel safe on the
campus, and parents know that
their child is in safe, confident
hands while at school. Teachers
take the time to learn about their
students—they care. Teachers
help with homework, stay after
school to ensure that students
understand the assignments, chal-lenge and push their students to
do their best.
From the teachers that work with
the students on a daily basis, to the
playground supervisors who watch
to make sure that students are inter-
acting appropriately and positively,
to the office staff who knows all
students by name, students will feel
like Emmaus is their “home away
from home.”
Emmaus prides itself on following its
graduates—they come back and visit
and keep us informed on what is new in their lives. Some, as in the
case of two of our teachers and one
of our staff members, come back
eventually to teach at our school.
“Emmaus has
great teachers and
staff, great
academics, and a
family
environment. I’m
really going to miss
this place after my
son graduates next
year.”

A sense of COMMUNITY is
valued as students help with
projects on campus, participate
in Student Government
leadership and activities, and
other campus-wide events.
Giving back to others is valued
and done through a variety of
ways, including chapel offerings,
food collection for need fami-lies, helping the homeless,
and other

partnerships.
“ I like the sense of family here at
Emmaus. The teachers are amazing,
and the curriculum always keeps them
on their toes. I also like the spirituality
that the school offers—you can’t ask for
anything more.”
