What is a Press Release?

Examples of when to use a press releases include:

● University scientists announce study results

Public Relations or PR) professionals write press releases to catch journalists' attention, which will hopefully result in a widely read or viewed story that enhances the client's image.

What is an Op-Ed• An op-ed, or opinion editorial, is a narrative essay that presents the writer's opinion or thoughts about an

issue.

• Op-eds can raise awareness about a particular topic or aim to persuade others, and can substantiate the writer as an expert on a subject.

• Op-eds are most commonly published in daily newspapers. They are typically 600–700 words, but can be shorter.

• Some op-eds are written by newspaper staff or syndicated writers. Many are submitted by the publication's readers.

• is a microblogging platform and social networking website founded by David Karp and owned by Yahoo! Inc

• The service allows users to post multimedia and other content to a short-form blog.

• Users can follow other users' blogs, as well as make their blogs private.

• As they say themselves, “Tumblr lets you effortlessly share anything. Post text, photos, quotes, links, music, and videos from your browser, phone, desktop, email or wherever you happen to be.” It is a cross between a social networking site (like Facebook and Twitter) and a blog.
