Online Learning Community
You are invited to participate in our Diversity & Inclusion Online Learn-ing Community!
Please log on to SIUE's Blackboard Site (and go to My Organizations) to enroll in our Online Learning Community.
As you make your way through this community, we would like to help you decide where to go first. Take a look at what each area has to offer:
COMMUNITY: This area contains Community Topics on a variety of Diversity & Inclusion subjects, such as LGBT Pride,
Women's Rights, and African American History. You'll also find links to the discussion board, where you can start or continue a conversation related to the topic, or share your thoughts in the Open Mic forum.
RESOURCES: This is where you can find resources on diversity and inclusion awards for SIUE students, faculty, and staff;
information about SIUE's new Multicultural Center (located on the 2nd Floor in the MUC); details about mentoring programs on campus; and resources for veterans. You can also share resources through Community wikis, or simply use a private jour-nal space for personal reflections.
TRAININGS: Anyone can take part in the online training modules in this community. Learn about how to identify and
reduce bias and more with these self-paced trainings. You will receive a certificate of completion when you complete the module, which you can add to your personal or professional portfolio. Modules will continue to be added throughout the semesters.
BOOK CLUBS: Take a look at this semester's selection for the on-campus Diversity & Inclusion Book Clubs. Find fliers
and other information here about meeting times, chapter summaries, and discussion prompts. Faculty are welcome to use these resources in class, including the book club quizzes.
FILM SERIES: Here you will find trailers for films shown in the on-campus Diversity & Inclusion Film Series, as well as
discussion questions and evaluations for each. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to investigate the films before coming to an on-campus showing, or reach out to staff in the Office of Diversity & Inclusion to arrange another way to see the film. Faculty may want to preview films and resources here before using in class.
