A holistic approach that transforms enterprise mobility by delivering rich platform interactions between integrated networks, devices and data – and all the users they touch – from the manufacturing floor to the CFO’s office; from the warehouse to the retail customer; and everywhere and everyone in between.

EmpowEr thE mobilE workErConnecting mobile workers to information and communications when and where they need it, improving their ability to collaborate and proactively meet customer needs at the point of contact.

The physical location of your workforce will be less important than providing them with the tools and connectivity to be productive anywhere. Every worker will become a connected, collaborative mobile worker armed with instant access to detailed information, rich media and communications via a device that is appropriate for their role. These leaner, more mobile workforces will require flexible solutions that allow expanded access to job-specific, actionable data. Evolving priorities will require workers to quickly switch tasks as needed and provide management with the visibility to check task status at any given time. In the future, intelligent network triggers will help ensure the right worker receives the right information in real time to successfully complete the right task. Productivity and job satisfaction will increase along with the ability to instantly resolve issues as they occur.

EnablE rEal-timE assEt VisibilityAchieving real-time visibility to all assets across enterprise operations with the ability to monitor and control inventory throughout the supply chain.

Real-time visibility to critical assets will include more than merchandise, but all equipment, appliances and devices across your entire

operation. Tracking inventory effectively translates directly to delivery speed and the ability to improve efficiencies and delight customers. High-value assets will be uniquely coded, tagged, identified and tracked at all key process points.

Knowing exactly what you have on-hand and where it is will allow you to more efficiently get it to where it needs to go. And that will also apply to your most valuable assets – employees. Better tracking data and analytics will provide greater visibility to all aspects of your operation, as well as the ability to trigger the appropriate response automatically – replenish inventory, assign prioritized tasks – transforming your business into a smarter, more agile enterprise.

EngagE thE smartEr CustomErBuilding stronger relationships with smarter customers means delivering rich, meaningful interactions at numerous points within the supply chain – in the warehouse, in-store, online or anywhere the customer wants to be engaged.

Smarter customers will connect with your business digitally. Loyalty will be gained – or lost – through personalized interactions and access to the information that matters most. Informed customers have higher expectations. They use the full power of the Internet and social media to validate product and service claims, compare prices online and share information about yours and competitors’ services. They will also conduct research instantly from wherever they are. This means your employees will need to be better prepared to provide the service and information these smarter customers expect. To do that, they will need connectivity and visibility equal to or beyond what your customers have and the ability to access that information in a fast, secure and appropriate manner. The bottom line? To positively influence loyalty you will need to personalize the customer experience, providing the access and applications to improve purchase interactions. And give your customers a reason to come back.

To empower mobile workers, enable real-time visibility of assets and engage smarter customers, complex data has to be simplified, managed and delivered securely and in a context that is relevant and easy for users to act on.

Dynamic EnvironmEnts rEquirE aDvancED DEvicEsWorkers are connected and reachable through enterprise mobile computers, tablets, kiosks or voice-enabled VoWLAN devices, improving their effectiveness and enabling real-time data management and accountability. Mobile workforces will collaborate in new ways. Decisions can be made and acted on quickly to enhance productivity. Priorities automatically adjust to meet current business demands. Automatic systems trigger tasks and identify and alert the most appropriate worker to complete them.

intEgratED, sEamlEss communications Boundaries dissolve with an integrated infrastructure that supports broadband, WLAN and WWAN as well as multiple, disparate devices. Voice and data solutions become seamless and accommodate fixed mobile convergence whether in the office or on the road. Formerly unconnected workers can now connect with devices that provide access to role-specific content. New multi-role work groups are created, collaboration is increased and new levels of productivity are achieved.

lines. Automated systems will be able to trigger specific tasks providing unprecedented new efficiency levels. Comprehensive connectivity will provide trusted suppliers a secure view into your operations to immediately solve issues and keep key business processes running optimally. That same access will also give enterprise leadership the ability to view key systems and make adjustments to improve process and revenue flows.

a morE connEctED customEr ExpEriEncEPervasive connectivity has created smarter, more dynamic customers who come to the point of purchase armed with information. This will increasingly become the rule. Expectations will increase and the level of service and value you provide will be scrutinized. The ability to customize customer touch points and options to participate at every stage of engagement builds loyalty. When an item sought is out-of-stock, a coupon is automatically generated and pushed to the customer’s device to save the sale. Your customers will determine the type of relationship they prefer and your systems will automatically adjust – customers can access your associates from their own devices and out-of-stock items can be automatically ordered, purchased and shipped directly to a desired location.

InnovatIve Indoor and outdoor adaptIve networkIngHighly scalable and resilient, adaptive networks distribute network intelligence from the controller to access points. They will constantly monitor network traffic and automatically adjust to ensure reliable, secure and prioritized connectivity. They will detect and identify customers and purchasing profiles automatically. They will have the ability to manage the bandwidth for multi-media, data-rich applications as well as provide for the delivery of context-specific content to connected devices once users are identified on the network.

enhanced InformatIon captureKnowing what you have and where you have it is critical to getting it where it needs to go quickly. Advanced scanning solutions, innovative 2D imaging and RFID systems will identify, monitor and track assets at any given point within the supply chain. Inventories will remain at the minimal optimal level, be replenished automatically and ensure real-time visibility of business-critical assets from the CFO to a receiving clerk. The foundation of tomorrow’s mobile enterprise, these systems will provide superior data capture performance and seamless integration with other networks and information systems.

robust securItyData breaches cost millions of dollars annually – not to mention even greater losses in customer loyalty and trust. With a vigilant eye toward local and regional statutes for privacy, advanced solutions will allow IT to monitor current and historical relationships and behaviors, making unusual access or activity easy to identify. Next generation networks will detect intrusions, defend against threats and protect data resources, providing gap-free security across the entire enterprise network platform.

sImple and Integrated managementToday’s networks consist of numerous remote and often disparate devices, appliances, readers and sensors. Employees will increasingly use their individually owned mobile devices for work. Managing and controlling those assets will remain a top IT priority, while monitoring critical performance indicators system-wide. How easy it is to manage indoor and outdoor enterprise networks will affect the long-term cost of ownership as well as productive up-time for networks and devices. Networks will be smarter, self-healing, have the ability to identify and address security, coverage and capacity issues automatically and provide system alerts only when necessary.

Greater efficiency in the Warehouse An order is received at the warehouse and assigned to a picker to fulfill. The picker uses RFID to locate and retrieve the item. An automated system registers out-of-stock once the item leaves the shelf and sends out an order to replenish that item. The order is received and approved by a manager using an enterprise mobile computer. Picker packs item and shipment data is entered for tracking. Picker marks task complete, manager reviews new orders and assigns picker a new task.

a stronGer connection in store

While online, a shopper downloads your loyalty application to her Smartphone. Upon entering the store, the network senses her and identifies her profile. Based on defined preferences, the network immediately pushes a digital coupon to her device. She scans a product code and an immediate price comparison is made. She asks for assistance using a kiosk.

The closest associate is notified, researches the product and responds to her request. She finishes her shopping and heads to self-checkout, using her Smartphone to complete the transaction. She leaves the store happy with her experience and eager to tell others.

municipal communicationsA bridge inspector travels to a job site, his office phone seamlessly transitions to his mobile device. He captures needed repairs with a camera and sends with a report on his enterprise mobile computer. Back at the office, the chief engineer reviews his photos and recommends the required repairs. Workforce management automatically dispatches a repair crew to the bridge. Before departing, they locate the assets needed and scan them out for use. Once repairs are complete, new pictures are taken and sent again to the chief engineer for review. The engineer approves and files his report.
