Any hardware system used to do a specific task can be called an embedded system.
1. Embedded systems are designed to do some
specific task.
2. Embedded systems are not always standalone
devices.
3. Most of the program instructions written for
embedded systems are referred to as firmware.
Embedded systems range from no user interface
at all to complex graphical user interfaces that
resemble modern computer desktop operating
systems.
Low cost. Small size. High reliability. Fast operations. Easy to manufacture. Fewer interconnections.
Hard to maintain. Doesn’t evolve with technology improvement. Hard to carry files from one machine to
