Rules Kids Won't Learn in School

BILL GATES' SPEECH in WHITNEY HIGH SCHOOL in Visalia, California.

Rule No. 1: Life is not fair. Get used to it.

Rule No. 2: The real world won't care as much about your self-esteem as much as your school

does. It'll expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule No. 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-

president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule No. 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait 'til you get a boss.

Rule No. 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different

word for burger flipping. They called it opportunity.

Rule No. 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes,

learn from them.

Rule No. 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got

that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how

cool you thought you are. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your

parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule No. 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In

some schools they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as

you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING

in real life.

Rule No. 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few

employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule No. 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee

shop and go to jobs.

Rule No. 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

STATUE OF LIBERTY

The Statue of Liberty is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in the middle of New York Harbor, in Manhattan, New York City. The statue, designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and dedicated on October 28, 1886, was a gift to the United States from the people of France. The statue is of a robed female figure representing Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom, who bears a torch and a tabula ansata upon which is inscribed the date of the American Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776. A broken chain lies at her feet. The statue is an icon of freedom and of the United States: a welcoming signal to immigrants arriving from abroad.

The statue was administered by the United States Lighthouse Board until 1901 and then by the Department of War; since 1933 it has been maintained by the National Park Service. The statue was closed for renovation for much of 1938. In the early 1980s, it was found to have deteriorated to such an extent that a major restoration was required. While the statue was closed from 1984 to 1986, the torch and a large part of the internal structure were replaced. After the September 11 attacks in 2001, it was closed for reasons of safety and security; the pedestal reopened in 2004 and the statue in 2009, with limits on the number of visitors allowed to ascend to the crown. The statue, including the pedestal and base, was closed for a year until October 28, 2012, so that a secondary staircase and other safety features could be installed; Liberty Island remained open. However, one day after the reopening, Liberty Island closed due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy; the statue and island opened again on July 4, 2013. Public access to the balcony surrounding the torch has been barred for safety reasons since 1916

No charge is made for entrance to Statue of Liberty National Monument, but there is a cost for the ferry service that all visitors must use, as private boats may not dock at the island. A concession was granted in 2007 to Statue Cruises to operate the transportation and ticketing facilities, replacing Circle Line, which had operated the service since 1953. The ferries, which depart from Liberty State Park in Jersey City and Battery Park in Lower Manhattan, also stop at Ellis Island when it is open to the public, making a combined trip possible.

How to Be Happier

1. Do not feel guilty - It's not helping anyone, the only thing that does is poisoning your life

and makes you angry. Some things just happen and you should not feel guilty about it, even if

you contributed in some way.

2. Do not overdo it with affection - nowadays people become attached to pretty much

everything. One should not be attached too much because of the risk to stay in one place and

not expand.

3. Expel negative thoughts - every such thoughts which go through the head, some people just

get rid of them significantly faster. Our thoughts are those that make up our perception of the

world, so it is better for them to be positive.

4. Get rid of beating ourselves - criticism sometimes deprive us of great experiences and

unforgettable emotions. Therefore it is better to throw them away from your life. Criticism is

not a bad thing as long as it is constructive.

6. No need to satisfy everyone - some people live with the thought that should appeal to

everyone. Actually, this is unnecessary. First, it is not possible and the second effort that will

make are redundant and will bring more negative than positive emotions.

7. Do not be mad unnecessary - stress and nerves have a detrimental effect on your health, so

avoid them. Keep your nerves for things that really deserve to be angry about.

helicopter, that has the ability to hover above the ground.

Motocross is a form of off-road

motorcycle racing held on enclosed off-

road circuits. The sport evolved from

motorcycle trials competitions held in

the United Kingdom. Motocross is a

physically demanding sport held in all-

weather conditions.

Parachuting, or skydiving, is the action sport of

exiting an aircraft and returning to Earth with the

aid of gravity, then slowing down during the last

part of the descent by using a parachute. It may or

may not involve a certain amount of free-fall, a

time during which the parachute has not been

deployed and the body gradually accelerates to

terminal velocity.

Training is the highest form of life

Human quest for longevity is natural. But how to live longer and not to start the day with a

handful of pills to be vital and energetic into old age? For that you need to take care of

yourself and help the environment and keep the genetic qualities. It is never too late to do

something for yourself.

We can start with small steps, but done regularly and persistently they can take us far.

Because you'll never get somewhere if you do not where you go. Healthy eating is not a diet

but a way to a better life. When you eat healthily, but often you smoke and drink alcohol, then

do not ask for great results. If you want to live a healthier, you should forget about harmful

foods and drinks. They are against the nutrition. Via fast food (McDonalds, KFC, Subway)

you will gain extra calories. Drink more water, but never during the meals. Replace bottled

juices and sodas with water or freshly squeezed juice. At each meal take at least 51% diverse,

raw and fresh food (salad). Eat fruits separately. Eat varied and seasonal food. Limit your

intake of sugar or artificial sweeteners. If you want to eat something sweet, it’s good if you

replace it with fruit.

Get out in the sun every day and exercise. The best highly recommended sport is three-times a

week walk in the woods. Sports teaches discipline, restraint and control of emotions. There

are moments in which the only sport helps you overcome problems and makes you go ahead.

Sport is one of the most important discoveries in human history. It acts both physically and

mentally and intellectually. An activity gives a positive impact both in anatomical and

physiological aspect, there are also educational impact on personality. Therefore, a large

percentage of the world population is engaged in some kind of sports activity.

hypogonadism. They are used in the treatment of delayed puberty, some types of impotence,

as well as for other conditions.

for rubbing on the skin. One of the main reasons for the use of anabolic steroids has been used

How Does Facebook Affect Young People?

New research oriented influence

of Facebook shows that

excessive time spent in the

social network can be harmful

for youngers. The study was

conducted by the psychologist

Larry Rosen of California

University Dominguez Hill. For

25 years he analyzed the impact

of technology on young people.

Meanwhile, his latest project is

aimed at studying the impact

that social networking has on

students and younger users.

Rosen found that teens who

spend more time on the internet or video games are prone to a number of medical problems.

These include stomach pain, sleep problems, severe anxiety and concern, including even

depression.

In parallel, the study found that young people who are often in their Facebook profile is

characterized by a self-centered behavior, since the use of social networks. According to

Larry Rosen, this is due to the fact that it is suitable for medium narcissists that may share

certain information about yourself on Facebook by their own rules.

However, the most curious finding of the study is related to another aspect of the behavior of

young people. Rosen noted that students who study for 15 minutes there is a very interesting

trend. He found that most of them are able to concentrate for only two or three minutes before

you focus on other things like text messaging or applications. According to Rosen, parents

need to be in constant open communication with their children, to be aware of how they use

technology and thus to determine what is their impact on the narrow mind.
