Initially a Distributor and Manufacturer’s Representative in the ESDM (electronics system design and manufacturing) industry.

Unisem has currently evolved to offer Electronic Design and ODM (original design & manufacturing) services.

Founded by a group of veterans with more than 3 decades of experience in Semiconductor supply chain & Design

CLIENT: MINISTRY OF DEFENCE

PROJECT BACKGROUND

Indian Army had procured 600 Scania trucks with 400 Bofors guns in late 1980s. The engine control unit

of the trucks have become faulty with parts becoming obsolete and vendor support had also ceased.

Since the trucks are mechanically still fit, the Indian Army wished to continue their usage by

correcting/replacing the faulty electronic units.

OUTCOME

105 vehicles fitted with Unisem’s solutions; 65 more under installation in 2021. 100 units to be supplied every subsequent year

UNISEM’S INDIGENOUS DESIGN/PRODUCT SOLUTION

Designed a “Freescale” microcontroller-based product with the team operating on site with the army regiment. This product was tested extensively in the field, approved and accepted for supply.

vendors to install 1-1.5 lakh units.

PROJECT BACKGROUND

All connected devices in an automated environment including mobile phones, tracking devices, connected cars, wearables, smart appliances, electric vehicles etc., all need a BLE module. Bluetooth is also at the core of all IOT (internet of things) devices which is the future. India currently depends solely on imports for BLE modules. Globally too there are only a handful of manufacturers of the BLE modules.
