Elthorne Park High School Newsleer Issue 832 - 13 th December 2018 Year 11 Opon Block Intervenon Sessions and Art/Graphics Examinaons On Monday and Tuesday next week, a third of the Year 11 students will be off metable sing their Art and Graphics exam which is worth 60% of their GCSE. It has been agreed the remainder of the Year 11 students will have a 2 hour Opon block intervenon programme in place for those two days. The intervenon programme will allow the teachers to review key topics which were not answered very well in the PPEs, give me for the compleon of outstanding non-exam assessments or connue teaching the syllabus in those two hours. We encourage students to wear a Christmas jumper to support 9H Christmas jumper charity fund raiser and ask for a donaon of £1.50. Students will be dismissed at 12:15pm. Start of Term: Spring Term Arrangements The first day of the Spring Term is Monday 7 th January for students and staff. Students are expected to be on site at 8:30am, registraon will be at 8:40am. Normal metable applies - WEEK 2 metable. Uniform Please remind your child that as part of the School Uniform Policy it is a requirement that students arrive to school with their lanyard visible and that this is worn throughout the school day including break and lunchmes. We advise that students do not bring mobile phones to school. Mobile phones and earphones/headphones must be in bags throughout the school day and not visible, if seen these will be confiscated and a sancon issued in line with School Behaviour Policy. Year 11 Option Block Intervention Sessions and Art/Graphics Examinations On Monday and Tuesday next week, a third of the Year 11 students will be off timetable sitting their Art and Graphics exam which is worth 60% of their GCSE. It has been agreed the remainder of the Year 11 students will have a 2 hour Option block intervention programme in place for those two days.

Parent Consultation Evenings
Uniform Purchasing We still have a limited number of the previous (old logo) style uniform for sale. These are available to the current years 8 to 11 to purchase from the uniform shop ONLY and will not be available to buy online. These items will be sold on a strictly first come first served basis. The Uniform shop is open from 11am to 12pm every Saturday morning, unless stated otherwise in the Newsletter. Any uniform purchases made on-line will be available to collect on Wednesday the following week from reception. Ms Mitchell, Finance Office Christmas Lunches

An alternative meal and sandwiches will be available for those that do not wish to have Christmas lunch
Ms Patel, Finance Expert Lecture Series - December 20th The title of the lecture is: Electron microscopes – my life with small things The lecture will be delivered by Mr Ned Wilkinson. Mr Wilkinson is an imaging and analytical applications specialist who works for GATAN UK, who are a world leader in the design and development of electron microscopes. This lecture is open to all students 3.10pm C101 Mr Heffernan, Head of Science Berlin Trip 2019 Letters have been given to the students that were successful in the lottery for the Berlin Residential 2019. Thank you to all parents/carers that who have paid the deposit.
