Pictures!Pictures!Pictures!

As you begin working on your Record Book, please keep in mind your pictures; consider submitting some of them for the banquet slide‐show.  Liz Terry has graciously agreed to put the slideshow together again this year, and she'll need either an electronic copy (sent to [email protected] or a hard copy (left at the Office with her name on it).  Hard copies will be returned.  PLEASE don't send non‐4H pictures, out‐of‐focus pictures or pictures that you can't tell what's happening; they will not be included.  We'd like as many projects represented as possi‐ble.  Additionally, please put the project name in the picture name (or at least mention the project name in your email) or on the back.

Pictures are due by Thursday, June 20th (date Record Books are due).  Thank you, in advance, for your help in making the best slideshow ever.

END OF YEAR FORMS DEADLINE

As this 4-H year is winding down there are several important documents that we en-courage you to complete. We want to recognize all the work and learning that have taken place this year and we can’t do that without your help. Please complete and turn in a Project Record Form for EVERY project you completed this year. If you meet the requirements for an award, complete the form and turn it in! If you don’t know about the awards, talk to your club manager. Seniors, remember to complete a scholarship application and turn it in. (See article on page 2) Most of these forms are on the county website at http://ellis.agrilife.org under the “Publications” tab. All projects, awards, record books and scholarships are recognized in the program at the 4-H Ban-quet in August. Don’t forget to turn in all project record forms, award forms, re-cord books, and scholarship applications before June 20th at 3pm!

Anglers Get Hooked

Our 4-H Sportsfishing Project is out of the box (tackle box that is)!!! We had our first and second meetings of the year on April 27th and May 11th at the Dineen's personal tank. A special thanks goes to them for allowing us to fish at their tank, and to the Johnson's for leading this project. Sierra Johnson demonstrated how to put fishing line on your reel, along with adding a weight and hook to the line. Dur-ing the day we learned how to bait a hook, use pliers or a line removal tool to gently remove the hook from the fish, the proper way to release the fish back into the water, casting tips and different bobber types/techniques.
