To make a mini couch, cut off the end of an empty egg carton lid - about 5cm from the end. 2. Now cut the other end of the egg carton lid in half, so that you have two corners. You may need to trim them so they are more square in shape. These will be your chairs. 3. Using a thick paint brush, paint your couch and two chairs. Make sure you cover them in paint so none of the original carton is showing. 4. Select 4 beads and with the help of an adult use a hot glue gun to carefully attach them to each corner of the underside of your couch carton. Make sure it is the flat side of the bead that you glue to the carton. This will help your couch to sit flat when you place it on an even surface. Sketch your rock pool during high tide and low tide. Enjoy some sensory play with your rock pool. Discuss how sea creatures found in rock pools have to adapt to survive in the fluctuating tides. They are sometimes exposed to air, and at other times submerged under water. They have special features to help them survive in this environment. For example, some suction on to rocks, others have hard shells to protect and hide them, and some have tentacles to catch passing prey.
