Eliminate disposable filter costs
Disassembly
Filter disposal
Increases equipment availability
Minimize progressive engine damage that may result from lube system
contaminants entering the engine when removing spin-on
filters
Eliminate concern about inferior, pirate spin-on filters being
installed on your engine
3
Disposable filter costs
The Eliminator filter not only eliminates the direct costs of the
purchasing and disposing of disposable filters, it eliminates the
time, space, man power and logistics associated with ordering,
stocking and keeping the field supplied with enough filters
This can be particularly costly when operating at remote sites
around the world.
Increase equipment availability
(Field experience regarding increase in availability??)
Filter effectiveness
The Eliminator filter has proven to provide a higher level of oil
cleanliness than the standard, full flow w/bypass flow filter
system
Eliminate possibility of dirt ingress, as occurrs when changing
disposable filters in the field. Full flow oil system remains
sealed, only the backflush flow to the centrifuge gets opened, this
oil always must pass through the filter before going back to the
engine.

Productivity/Availability is one of the main drivers for this
product.
82297220.ppt jvk 9/22/97 *
No external power requirements
Filtered oil drives the hydraulic motor
Backflushed oil drives the centrifuge
5
Easily retrofittable.
Self-contained with no need for external power sources to drive
it.
Eliminates the need for 2 filter heads, one with up to 5 full flow
elements on one side of the engine and 2 bypass flow elements on
the other.

Simplisitic System (cont.)
Total filter surface cleaned every 90 seconds
Solids won’t stick to filter mesh
Full flow filter service at engine overhaul
Bypass flow centrifuge service ranges from 500-2000 hour
intervals
Service interval dependent on load factor, machine application and
oil quality
6
By continuous backflushing, rather than periodic, soft contaminants
don’t have a chance to wrap around filter mesh, therefore, filter
stays cleaner, longer
Typical field service times for the centrifuge have been 1,500
-> 2,000+ hours

The engine is always protected, no bypass flow, therefore no
concern about the engine not getting filtered oil
Very robust filter element design, 300 psig burst pressure
Proven filter design which has been in production for more than 25
years.

Based on proven, Alfa Laval disc stack centrifuge tech.
Cleaned oil drives centrifuge
10
10
Very efficient level of particle removal, down to 2 m and below,
based on particle density vs. oil
Cleans the oil not only for extended lube oil and engine component
life but also to provide cleaner oil for the Centinnal oil burn
system.
Backflushed oil is routed from the filter to the centrifuges.
Dirty oil enters through the shaft in the center of the centrifuge,
the oil then passes through the high speed, rotating disc stack,
where it is cleaned
Cleaned oil exits the centrifuge through 2 propulsors which cause
the centrifuge to rotate at speeds of between 5,000 and 6,000 rpm.
No external power source is therefore required to drive the
centrifuge.
The cleaned oil then passes into the engine sump
Sludge is collected on the paper element lining the wall of the
centrifuge bowl

Simple, quick, few service parts required.
Total estimated service time, 5 hours every 20,000 hours. 8 hours
if you include re-moval and re-installation on a vehicle

Service (con’t.)
Backflush Flow Centrifuge
500 - 2000 hours
Service frequency is dependent on machine load factor and oil
quality
Remove bowl liner with sludge
Visually inspect bowl and spindle
Reinstall bowl liner
Only dispose sludge and paper liner
Inspect sludge material content to get a history of the condition
of the engine
