The Have a Heart for Books events have been an amazing success and blessing to
BCS!
Through the generosity of the Weichel and Fuller Family Funds through the Manatee Community Foundation, BCS was blessed by being able to provide an exciting platform to promote the love of
books and reading. The month of January was filled with various events such as door decorating projects, a book mark contest, a favorite book character dress up day, a celebrity reading day where Wichers Auditorium was transformed into a wonderland of reading stations and celebrity readers read to our students as each class spent an hour in the reading stations. The students and parents returned at night to enjoy milk and cookies, reading time, and performances from some very special people. The final event was a book character parade and the announcement of the winners of the book mark contest. Each student was given a book with a laminated winning book mark. What a treat for our school to be able to celebrate literacy and the love of reading. THANK YOU Weichel and Fuller families and Manatee Community Foundation.
