Q What is the market need you see Element filling? A Our research showed significant consumer demand for modern design and green options when selecting a hotel, particularly in the longer-stay hotel category. We saw this as a unique opportunity to do something differentour goal is to build environmentally responsible hotels that make green choices easy for our guests without compromising a great experience.

Q How did Element approach this opportunity? A We approached Element with a fresh perspective. Consulting with key owners and developers along the way, we created a concept that began in Lexington, MA. By testing and refining Element Lexington, we built an eco-conscious and economically responsible lifestyle hotel with modern sensibilities.

Q What is the significance of Elements relationship to Westin? A Element Hotels is inspired by the design and positioning of Westin and will promote balance through smart and sustainable design and meaningful guest programming. Our guests will also enjoy the luxury of the signature Westin Heavenly Bed.

Q What is Starwoods thought process when they launch a new brand? A We have a proven track record in the lifestyle space, with brands like W, Aloft and Westin. As the newest member of the family, Element is another example of Starwoods fresh thinking and innovation.

Element hotels comply with the mandates of high performance green buildings, resulting in a cleaner, healthier place for both guests and associates and a more sustainable environment for the earth.

Green from the ground up

Sustain Eco-friendly materials are incorporated in the Element design whenever possible: rooms feature carpets with up to 100% recycled content, wall art is mounted on a base made from recycled tires, and low VOC (volatile organic compounds) paints improve indoor air quality.

Conserve Element was built to conserve without compromising performance. Low-flow faucets and fixtures help save water, compact fluorescent light bulbs use about 75% less energy than standard incandescent bulbs, and energy-efficient appliances use approximately 30% less energy.

Reduce Element reduces waste wherever we can: silverware and glassware are available in guest rooms instead of plastic utensils and paper cups, filtered drinking water eliminates the need for plastic bottles, and all natural bathroom amenities are stored in a dispenser system instead of disposable bottles.

Reuse Element offers an extensive recycling programbins are located in every guestroom and common areas of the hotel, including the lobby and Motion fitness center.
