WELCOME BACK TO 2019 AT ELEEBANA PS
Welcome to our first full length Endeavour newsletter for 2019.
Our year is off to a wonderful start. Only a few weeks in we have already seen excellence in
classrooms, in leadership and in sporting arenas.
Kindergarten have settled beautifully into ‘big school’ and are proudly celebrating their new
learning. While in classrooms K-6, our teachers are collecting data and analysing learning
progress to ensure all students are achieving their personal benchmarks. Mrs Webster and
her team are hard at work providing targeted intervention to support student learning, and
our Gifted and Talented groups are just about to commence.
Our Creative and Performing Arts programs have started strongly. Under Ms Wingrove’s
expert guidance, our school Bands are in full swing. Staff and students are also busy with
the preparations for our 2019 Starstruck and the Spotlight performances.
In these first weeks we have enjoyed our Swimming Carnival, Zone Carnival and Zone
selections for individual sports; and while there will detailed information about our
students' recent achievements later in the newsletter, suffice to say our school is very proud
of the high levels of participation, sportsmanship and tenacity of our students. We
congratulate all those who have achieved personal bests in those competitions.
SCHOOL WORKS
We have some fairly significant works in the pipeline here at Eleebana PS.
A major integration project constructing an access ramp into our bottom Infants playground
is due to begin, with work likely to begin before the end of term. Meanwhile the tender
process for the artificial turf and landscaping plans for the top playground will end soon and
we are hopeful that works will begin soon thereafter. Finally, the Kindergarten block will be
re-carpeted and re-painted in upcoming months.
WORKING BEE
Our first Working Bee for 2019 will be held on
Sunday 10th March 8:30am-1pm.
Morning tea will be supplied.
Come along, bring the children and let's make our school grounds beautiful.
Enquiries, please contact Marie on 0411980290

CLASSES 2019
In 2019 Eleebana Public School is offering 23 grade-based classes. Due to staff leave and several school-based initiatives, there are
several classes with a team-teaching arrangement. I would like to assure parents that our teachers work very hard to establish high
levels of consistency and team work in these classrooms to ensure seamless curriculum delivery and promote the most positive
outcomes for their students.

APPROACHING THE SCHOOL
From time to time parents or other members of the school community may need to approach the school. It is therefore necessary to have procedures in place to ensure a safe and harmonious school environment is maintained. The best results flow from working together.
These guidelines are to:
Provide a guide in order that concerns are dealt with in an open and fair manner.
Ensure the rights of parents, students and teachers are respected and upheld
Support sensitivity and confidentiality
Help resolve problems smoothly and effectively
On occasion concerns may cause frustration and anxiety. At such times it is always important to organise an appointment to talk with school staff in an unhurried and confidential atmosphere.
Please note: No parent should directly approach another person’s child. The school will deal with issues between students. Please see us with any concerns.
WHO SHOULD I SEE?
CONTACTING STAFF
We want to make sure that we are able to give any concerns our full attention as well as the confidentiality they deserve. For this
