The basic purpose of the project is to monitor the supply of water in irrigation system. By systematically planning the irrigation we can save a lot of waste of water and hence energy.

Our project mainly relies on the microcontroller and the sensory system which has been designed using simple principle of

conductivity if water. The microcontroller keeps track of present time and the desired time to start irrigation. Both of which are variables and can be set by the user. The program which drives the microcontroller has been completely designed by the team whereas standard references have been used in case of the circuit parts as at the current stage we do not have in depth knowledge of the components used. The project currently is in working condition and ready for demonstration.

Major Components: ATMega16, Usbasp, 7 segment display, Binary to Decimal Converter. Software used: WIN AVR Package.

How our project is related to the energy field:A solar tracker is a highly useful device to the energy

sector, especially when thin film solar cells are used. This is because the efficiency of these cells increases dramatically when they are pointed in the direction of maximum sunlight. Our solar tracker is a single axis tracker and does precisely this.

Description:Solar trackers present in the market are very expensive. We have designed a solar tracker which is as efficient as any other single axis tracker and is very inexpensive. The only things we had to buy were 1) 3 rpm motor, 2)2 LDRs, 3) 3 LM 741’s 4) a 15 V supply, 5) A wooden frame

Hot Wire Anemometer

Brief Description: Our circuit uses op amps, a resistance bridge, a transistor and a

tungsten filament to measure wind speed. We are trying to incorporate a fan in the

circuit which will change its speed of rotation depending on the ambient wind speed.
