New style diagrams have a number afterthe connector code to further aididentification and location of connectors.M3 for example indicates inter–harnessconnector No 3 on the Main harness.
‘Short Circuit’ Terminals within connector.When connector is mated correctly, circuitoperates in the normal way.When connector is disconnected or onlypartially mated, the two terminals makecontact to provide a ‘fault’ warning.
Examples of bracketed text found on Diagrams ;
(N/A) 2.5 DI Normally Aspirated diesel engine.
(MAN) Manual gearbox.
(LL) 2.5 DI N/A LowLine. These are vehicles WITHOUT an underbonnet supplementary fusebox.
