CURRENT ELECTRICITY

Alternating current electricity(AC): Alternating current is a stream of charges that reverses direction. AC is made with electric generators and motors.

Direct current electricity(DC): Direct current is electricity flowing in a constant direction, and/or possessing a voltage with constant polarity. DC is the kind of electricity made by a battery.

DC is easier to work with and it is easier to design complex circuits using DC.

AC on the other hand, is suitable for power systems in a way that DC is not. AC can be multiplied up to very high voltages and sent for many miles across country from power stations to cities and towns.

AC is used for higher voltage devices and DC is used for some simpler devices.

STATIC ELECTRICITY

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Static Electricity is caused by an imbalance of positive protons and negative electrons creating charge.

ELECTROSTATIC REPULSION AND PROPULSION

When you rub a balloon on someone’s head, the balloon takes electrons from the hair leaving the hair with a positive charge and the balloon a negative charge. Opposite charges attract so the hair is attracted to the balloon and the balloon to the hair.
