OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:1. Prime the Pump. A. From a Pressurized Supply •Connectagardenhosetothegardenhosefitting, makingsuretheattachmentissnug. •Attachthehighpressurehosetothequickconnecton thepump. •Withoutplugginginorturningonthepump,turnonthe supplyofwaterandopentheoutletvalve. •Oncewaterbeginstoflowoutofthehigh-pressurehose andtheairispurgedout,closetheoutletvalve.
B. From a Non-Pressurized Supply •Connectagardenhosetothegardenhosefitting,making suretheattachmentissnug. •Makesurethehoseendisnotrestingonthebottomor sideofthesupplycontainer.Thiswillnotallowwaterto flow,causingprimingandsuctionproblemswith thepump. •Primingthepumpiseasierifitisatequalorlowerheight ofthesupplycontainer. •Attachthehighpressurehosetothequickconnecton thepump. •Pluginthecordandturnonthepumpwiththeairbleed off(primingvalve)open.Waterwillflowfromthisvalve oncethepumpbeginstoprime.Note: A hose can be attached to the hose barb and run back to the water supply if desired. •Closetheairbleed-offvalveandthepumpwillquickly prime.Makesuretheoutletvalveisopen. •Oncewaterbeginstoflowoutofthehigh-pressurehose andtheairispurgedout,closetheoutletvalveandturn offthepump.
Priming Tips: A. Whenprimingthepumpfromanon-pressurizedsupply, itisrecommendedtofilltheinputgardenhosebefore turningonthepump. B. Theinputfittingforthepumpisastandardgardenhose connection.Whenthisattachmentismadeitisimportant tomakesurethegardenhoseistightenedsnugglysothat thepumpdoesnotsuckairthroughtheloseconnection. Alooseconnectionwillmakethepumphardtoprime. C. Theshorterthegardenhose,theeasieritistoprimethe pump.Longhosestendtocollapsefromthesuctionofthe pumpwhendrawingfromanon-pressurizedsystem, restrictingflow. D. Useahosethatisrigidenoughsothatitdoesnotcollapse, especiallywhendrawingwaterfromanon-pressurized system.
2. Connect the High Pressure Hose to the system being checked. A. Ifthesupplywateriscomingfromapressurizedsystem, itisrecommendedtofillthesystemtobetestedwithwater priortoturningonthepump.Thiscanbedonesimplyby openingtheOutletvalveonthepump,allowingwaterto flowthroughthepumpandhigh-pressurehoseintothe systembeingtested.Oncethesystemfillsandpressure beginstorise,proceedtothenextstep. B. Non-pressurizedsystemsshouldbefilledwithwaterpriorto attachingthehigh-pressurehoseandturningonthepump, ifatallpossible.Thiscouldspeedupthetestingprocess. C. Theoutputfittingattheendofthehigh-pressurehoseis 3/8”NPT.Anadaptormaybeusedtoattachthishoseto thesystemthatisbeingpressuretested.
3. Plug in the cord and turn on the pump to pressurize the system to the desired test pressure. A. Pressurecanbeadjustedbyturningthepressure adjustmentknobonthesideofthepump.Turning clockwisewillincreasethepressure.Turningcounter- clockwisewilldecreasethepressure.
4. Once the system reaches the desired pressure, close the outlet valve and turn off the pump. A. Oncethepumpreachesthesetpressureitwillcontinue torunbutthewaterwillflowthroughtheAutomatic Bypassandrecirculatethroughthepump.Itisnot recommendedtorunthepumpinbypassmodeformore thanacoupleofminutes.Oncethedesiredpressureis reached,itisunnecessarytocontinuerunningthepump. Closethevalve,turnoffthepumpandunplugthecord. B. Thepumpisequippedwithavalveandhosewhichhasa checkvalvetopreventbackflow.Thecheckvalveonly workswhenthethehoseisdetachedfromthepump. Itisrecommendedtofillthesystembeingtestedthrougha valvewhichcanbeshutforbackflowpreventionaswell.

5. The system is now isolated. A. Thehosecanquickdisconnectfromthepump andleftwiththesystembeingtested,ifnecessary,sothat thepumpcanbeusedtotestanothersystemorstored.
WARNING: Protect the pump from freezing. Store and transport in a warm place. Or use food grade propylene glycol in the pump to guard against freezing.
