1.2 Applications of Electromagnetics (EM)
Biomedical Researches To illustrate the electromagnetic computer simulation to the design of implantable devices, a simple pacemaker example is considered. The example device is about 3.5 x 2 x 2 cm with 2.5 cm bent wire antenna. It is designed to simulate a pacemaker and uses the heart electrode as the antenna.

1.2 Applications of Electromagnetics (EM)
Biomedical Researches An important topic of discussion today is the impact of radio frequency electromagnetic fields on human tissue. People are interested in
- the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) in the entire head, - the 1 and 10 gram averages of the SAR values including the peak value locations, - the whole-body average SAR throughout the head, - conduction currents on the outer surfaces of the head, - and various antenna characteristics including input impedance and efficiency.
