El Tejo era el lugar de reunión de los celtas.Utilizaban el fruto venenoso del Tejo (Texu) para suicidarse cuando caían en las manos del enemigo.
El Tejo tiene unos frutos venenosos de color rojo intenso. Sus hojas, ramas y madera son tóxicas.
Hay tejos hembra y tejos machos.
El Tejo o también llamado Teixu puede llegar a vivir mas de 1.500 años. Sus hojas son perennes y su madera es muy dura.
El Tejo se reproduce mediante semillas. Y habita en zonas montañosas.
