The conjugated forms of the verb <<estar>> tells us who is doing the action.

Let’s practice the present participles (-ando, iendo)

1. Beber2. Tomar3. Comer4. Vivir5. Bailar

Page 19: El Presente Progresivo. We use Present Tense to talk about what is happening now, in the present. Hablo = I talk or I am talking.

drinking3. comiendo = eating4. viviendo = living5. bailando = dancing

One way to express the –ing suffix in English is to use the present participle.

Page 20: El Presente Progresivo. We use Present Tense to talk about what is happening now, in the present. Hablo = I talk or I am talking.

So we put it with <<estar>> so we can tell who is doing

the action.

These <<-ando>> and <<-iendo>> words are called the present participle. The present participle can never

stand alone.

To do this, first conjugate <<estar>>, then add the

correct <<-ando>> or <<-iendo>> to the action verb.
