My name is Sophia.

I

This is my mother and father, Maria

y Juan.

My dad went to get some water

from the eucalyptus tree!

My mom and I went to get

leaves from the eucalyptus.

My mom made climbing to the top of the tree and grabbing as

many leaves as she can fun, so I wanted to try!

When I started climbing, I couldn’t stop; I felt like a super hero.

Suddenly, I lost grip and fell

through a few branches; I was se-

riously hurt.

It’s been days since my accident and I promised myself never to

climb again!

My mom let a few of my

friends over, Anna and Enrique,

to help me feel better.

Anna tugs on my ear, a sign of caring, and says, “Sophia, I’m sor-

ry you fell.”

Enrique was quite, he was very upset.

My dad wanted to surprise me, so he put me in his arms and

jumped a few branches up.

He said to me, “Sophia, you can

do it. I believe in you!”

So he dropped down to the branch lower than the one we

were on and said, “Believe and it will happen!”

I puffed my chest up,

closed my eyes, and

started to climb like I’ve

never have before!

Suddenly I stopped and my father yelled, “Open your eyes So-

phia. You’re at the top.”

My heart sang, smiled, and shouted

from the top of the tree, “I did it!”
