“WILL” • The FUTURE tense is used to tell us what WILL happen in the

future. • To form the FUTURE TENSE, you add the following endings to

the INFINITIVE of the verb (the verb unconjugated):

“GOING TO” • There are two ways we can talk about what will happen in the future

in both Spanish and English. • We have learned the “WILL” version of the FUTURE tense and now

we will see the “GOING TO.”

• To create the I am “GOING TO” / We are “GOING TO” future tense, follow the following model:

IR (IN THE

PRESENT TENSE, “TO GO”

+ the word “a” (MEANS “TO”)

+ VERB IN THE INFINITIVE (WITH ENDING)
