Haroidsen ) Tests on the VTS-3A facility definitely established that diffuser film cooling during ejector operation causes the capsule pressure to degrade from about 1 .6 psi (51,000 ft . altitude) to approximately 4 .0 psi (31,000 ft altitude) . Steam blow--back into the capsule, also caused by the film cooling, is the cause of the high capsule temperatures experienced . Test Systems has strongly suggested that a J-2 test be'forced to mainstage so the effect of film cooling during J-2 operation can be evaluated .
