JOIN in the worldwide mission of Jesus! JOIN the Propagation of the Faith!
As disciples of Jesus, baptized into the Church and strengthened by the Holy Spirit, we are called to draw others to Christ: others in our family, in our neighborhoods; others even “to the ends of the earth”. More than 2,000 years after the birth of Jesus, some two-thirds of our human family do not yet know Him in faith as we do. Through the Propagation of the Faith, we can reach those at work at “the ends of the earth” as we help to support the Church’s evangelizing work in more than 1,150 mission dioceses worldwide. We are needed to offer daily prayer and regular financial help as well. Please join the Propagation of the Faith today. Our parish will surely become more vibrant in faith as we become more missionary. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

RENOVATION OF THE SCHOOL PARKING LOT/PLAYGROUND It is no secret that the parking lot for the school/playground is in bad shape. For the safety of our children and for the safety of those who park there for Mass, we need to fix it. HOWEVER, it is a bit more complex than just re-paving it. We need to address the poor drainage issues causing the problems that lie beneath the lot. The parking lot will be CLOSED TO ALL from AUGUST 8TH until AUGUST 23RD. We ask for your patience while this long overdue project is completed. Fr Peter
“Friend, who appointed me as your judge and arbitrator? Then he said to the crowd, ‘Take care to guard against all greed, for though one may be rich, one’s life does not consist of possessions… This will be for all who store up treasure for themselves but are not rich in what matters to God.” A well-known teacher reported that the early explorers of our land came, driven by four things – glory, gold, greed and God. Their exploits have been celebrated facing difficult times and adverse conditions. If there was a lack of balance they can be forgiven. In our time we struggle to make ends meet, and never have enough. We know the importance of our good reputation, but are ready to put down another person. We speak of our faith and religious values, but are caught in a consumer society which taints our way of thinking, translating wants into needs.
May we learn from the child who delights in the wrapping on a gift, rather than what is in the box. May we deny ourselves of one necessity, like sugar, in the coffee or a second beer, aware that someone else is in need. Greed is sneaky, it is easy to see it in the capital sins.
“Pray, Hope and Don’t Worry. Worry is useless, God is merciful and will hear your prayer.” - Saint Padre Pio
