PROJEX AFRICA
Projex Africa targets the complete life cycle of the
modern building industry. The focus is, in
particular, on innovation, green building, energy
e�ciency, renewable energy and sustainability.
It is the focal trade link in the construction sector
between the world and Africa. For all the operators
in the field of construction, the event is the ideal
showcase for today’s and tomorrow’s solutions. It
aims not only to satisfy the new and fast growing
needs of the booming continent, but also targets to
address the future challenges of the construction
industry.
Among other impressive big projects, Egypt plans
to build the New Cairo, the new administrative and
economic capital, sustainable and “smart”, which
will cover an area of over 700 km2 on the outskirts
of Cairo and will host 5 milion residents.
The new city – the name of which has not been
revealed – will include 660 health care facilities,
almost 2.000 schools and colleges, 1.250 mosques
and churches and a theme park four times the size
of Disneyland. The project will cost 45 billion USD
and will take seven years to be completed.
