For my work on AVEX, my objective was to create postcard designs for

specic events they were having to target particular areas of their

demographic. Then I had to change the content of the front and backs of

these postcards into MailChimp newsletter designs, which was easy once I

had postcards done. At rst I was accounting for leaving a lot of space on one

side for mailing information, but then they told me that I didn’t have to

worry about that because they were going to be mailled off in envelopes. At

that point I had more room than I needed because of all the extra space I

created.

For Beacon, I got to do a lot of design specally for web which was a bit of

a learning curve. I messed up on saving the images at smaller le formats

and saving for web, but I caught on pretty quick. There is also a lot to

consider concerning content areas for web, because of how the areas change

based on what device they are being viewed on. For the facebook cover

photo design in particular, I had to bring the content in quite a bit from my

original margin lines. This was also the rst time I had ever wroked on a

design for a webpage which was a great experience. I enjoyed basing my

design after the nartuarl downward ow of the site.

The Work I did for BVA was extremely minor by my estimation. They were

really just refreshing some imagery on there website and their presentation

templates. It was frustrating because I found their brand style to be pretty

boring, but I was not given the freedom to embellish. I got new stock photos

of ofce settings and corrected the collors to match BVA’s website colors.

Then I cropped the images to place in the carosel on the landing page. I also

placed new content into the landing page and gave it a little refresh. Once I

nished the work with the website, I worked on a new template for their

company presentations, which I also felt ended up being fairly straight

forward, because they wouldn’t allow me to embellish with any new design

ideas.

Creating the logo for Think Creative Inc.’s annual Think-A-Thon was my

main projectt this summer. The Think-A-Thon is a charity event that Think

Creative does every year in order to identify a local non-prot organiztion

that is in desperate need of brand identity. Think-A-Thon is straight 26 hour

pro bono brand identity workshop with all of the company’s resources

dedicated to completing the chosen non-prot’s design. My task was to

complete the logo. The only direction I was given was that it needed to have

an icon that incorperated the concept of design and charity. I also did a

series of 2 brand book templates in InDesign for 2 of Think Creative’s clients;

Hearthstone and Synergy. This project probably contributed more to my

knowledge during this internship than any other project.

I was given the opportunity to do a logo refresh for a large corporation

named Innovation Group, but unfortunately my internship ended before I

could complete it. Below is the work I got done.
