2. REVERBERATION Reverberation is the persistence of sound in a particular space after the original sound is removed. A good example of a song including Reverberation is guilt by Nero.Nero-GuiltDry Drum Drum with reverberation 3. DISTORTION Distortion (guitar): Guitar distortion is an effect applied to the electricguitar, the electric bass, and other electronic instruments, giving theinstruments tone more "bite", "grit", "crunch" and sustain. It is usedacross a wide range of musical genres, from the subtle overdrive used insome forms of the Blues to the hard-edged distortion featured in hardrock, punk rock, and heavy metal. 4. EXAMPLE OF DISTORTION Red Hot Chillie Peppers- Around the world is good example of a song that contains DistortionDry GuitarGuitar with Distortion 5. DELAY Delay is an audio effect which records an input signal to an audiostorage medium, and then plays it back after a period of time. Thedelayed signal may either be played back multiple times, or played backinto the recording again, to create the sound of a repeating, decaying echo. 6. EXAMPLES OF DELAYWelcome to the jungle by Guns N Roses is a good example as it hasdelay in the intro 7. WAH-WAH This effect uses a moving bandpass filter to create its sound. A lowfrequency oscillator (LFO) is used to control the movement of the filterthroughout the frequency spectrum. The WahWah effect automatically adjusts the phase of the left andright channels when given a stereo recording, so that the effect seems totravel across the speakers. 8. PHASER The name "Phaser" comes from "Phase Shifter", because it works bycombining phase-shifted signals with the original signal. The movement ofthe phase-shifted signals is controlled using a Low Frequency Oscillator(LFO). 9. ECHO A simple delay line. This effect repeats the audio you have selected again and again, softer eachtime. There is a fixed time delay between each repeat. The Echo effect is very simple and is not intended to be used in place of aReverb effect, which simulates the sound of a room, concert hall, stage, orother natural environment. Audacity for MacOS and Windows comes withGverb, a free LASPA Reverb plug-in. 10. CHORUS In music, a chorus effect (sometimes chorusing or chorused effect) occurswhen individual sounds with roughly the same timbre and nearly (butnever exactly) the same pitch converge and are perceived as one. Whilesimilar sounds coming from multiple sources can occur naturally (as in thecase of a choir or string orchestra), it can also be simulated using anelectronic effects unit or signal processing device.
