• Limitations• Wemeasuredsimulatedemotionalstates.• Wecouldnotexcludethepossibilitythattheparticipantspreparedforthearticulationduringthenonspeakingstates.

• WeproposedthesideeffecthypothesisofemotionalspeechproductionandevaluateditbyMRIexperiments.• Theeffectsonthespeechorganconfigurationinthespeakingandnonspeakingstatesweresimilarforemotions.• Thehypothesiswassupportedindirectly.
